Description:

Ok, so I started a snail mail version of this swap yesterday and have gotten a bunch of PMs about doing it through e-mail. So... here you go! :) I'm going to have both versions so people can pick their preference or join both if they really want variety. The dates are a little different though so people in both swaps (like me) won't get confused about who gets snail mail and who gets e-mail. :) Have fun!

I did a swap like this last year and discovered lots of new books and authors. Since I haven't seen another swap like it recently and I'm looking for new books to read, I decided to host one. :)

This will be really simple. Just make a list of 100 books, including the authors, that you have read or plan to read. Then you e-mail the list to 6 partners. Please remember to include your Swap-bot username and the name of the swap.

Since this an e-mail swap and I can definitely angel, everyone can join. :) I'm not going to put any requirements, but do know that I reserve the right to ban anyone I consider too questionable.

This swap is international.

I love this swap, as I run a small book group, and am participating in a couple of reading challenges on line.

Mrrranda 12/ 8/2008 #

Is it just going to be a list of authors and titles or will we be describing the books at all?

julianapena 12/ 8/2008 #

I loved it! I love books :)

Grasshopper 12/ 8/2008 #

It's a list of authors and titles. But if anyone wants to describe the books, I'm sure their partners would appreciate it. :)

elletheduck 12/15/2008 #

LOL I read all the time, since I don't own a television, but is it things like Harlequin romances (I read about one of them a day) or other types of books? I read both, and I read about 5 romances a week and about 3 others a week, give or take, so I have a wide selection (and eclectic) to choose from.

Grasshopper 12/15/2008 #

You can put any type of book you want on your list. :)

PurpleTX 12/22/2008 #

So - anyone think my partner would mind if I can not stop at 100???

Because of the 100 list journal swap, I am working on THREE book lists right now.

I have 100 books I'd recommend reading, 100 books I'd like to read & 100 books in Fantasy & Paranormal.

I am having a hard time deciding just which books to actually include in this 100.

jennhx 12/31/2008 #

PurpleTX, if I am your partner, I'd love to see the books you recommend! :) But I think whichever you choose will turn out perfectly. And more than 100 is not necessarily bad LOL. Cheers.

I have my list! I made 3 columns: Title, Author, and whether or not I've read it yet. Who do I email this list to?

Thanks! Karen

tsireldi 01/ 3/2009 #

Silly question: if there's a series of books (e.g. Harry Potter) do you list each book separately or the whole series as one entry?

goobers18 01/ 4/2009 #

I love this idea b/c I'm always looking for more books to read! I've already made my list and its over 100, all just books i've read :-) I didn't include descriptions, but i'd be happy to give description info to my swap partners if they need it!

just curious, does anyone do movie list swaps? i'm always on the lookout for good movies to rent. thanks!!

AnitraF 01/ 5/2009 #

This is going to be a lot of typing!

Do we send the list as an attached file, or type the list into a Swap-bot message (how long can those be, anyway?) or send a regular email?

Grasshopper 01/ 5/2009 #

I meant for everyone to put the list into a regular e-mail but if you'd like to use an attachment that's ok as long as you ask your partners first. Some people don't like attachments for various reasons or may not be able to open them.

boocat 01/ 6/2009 #

i hope youll keep me.this might be hard but im up for the chalange:)im going to start making my list tonight.please make my day and let me stay.

AndreaJ 01/ 6/2009 #

This will be easy! I'll go to my Shelfari list and copy title/author. But I'll add a note about whether or not I liked the book.

Zion 01/ 6/2009 #

I making my list and checking it twice :)

PhaedraPhoenix 01/ 6/2009 #

for those of you who like email swaps, I just listed one for august that will be 5 great links to share! I'm looking forward to this one too!

PhaedraPhoenix 01/ 6/2009 #

Purple TX I want to be your partner and I'll take any and all lists!!

angelstar 01/ 7/2009 #

I've finished my list. I put it as a page on my Web site with a cool background also. I will send a link to my partners which they can just click on to view my Web page. I even put pictures of the books and the ISBN #s on my list. I just took the books from my Swap-bot.com list. I have ones that I have read and others I want to read. I have kept my list to 100 books.

:-)

wytch6 01/ 8/2009 #

I am on a 5-swap restriction (Newbie rules??) but my list is done and ready to go. Will definitely join this one as I am a read-a-holic. It is really difficult to ONLY have 100 books-I used ones I actually own and have read + a few I have read but unfortunately had to give back to their rightful owners sobs quietly into her kerchief

sinisterspackle 01/11/2009 #

Oh I so wanted to join this swap - I heard about it in another swap. Missed it by a day! I think I missed the written version too. I will have to keep my eyes open for another :D

wytch6 01/12/2009 #

To my 6 partners. I have sent my list to you. Please if you would prefer it as the content of the mail instead of an attachment (Word Doc) let me know and I will gladly resend.

wytch6 01/12/2009 #

Sorry I lied-It is NOT a word document-It is Microsoft Excel spreadsheet. Sorry

AnitraF 01/12/2009 #

I basically listed the books on two shelves. I have 11 bookcases, each of which have a minimum of five shelves ......

By the way - I sent my list as attachments. If you can't view it, let me know.

angelstar 01/13/2009 #

Today I sent a link to my Web page book list to the following people:

Suzanne, Godsrockangel, ginating, queenallie03, mausi, smiley7597

If you (above people) did not receive an email from me please let me know; I will be perfectly happy to send another one. And if the link doesn't work for you - it should though - please let me know and I will send the list as an email .

The thing is, on my web page that I made, it has the pictures of the books and a cool background. I spent a lot of time making the list.

:-)

angelstar 01/13/2009 #

If anyone other than the people on my partners list wants to see my list, let me know and I will send you the link to my Web page.

I <3 Swap-Bot!

To crayolaskiies, panda2778, myaizar, wytch6, momtogus, and joinokc

Hi all, I'm so sorry I'm late on this swap. I have had a difficult week as I was laid off from my job. I hope you will forgive my tardiness, I will be e-mailing it soon. Thanks for your patience.

jennhx 01/17/2009 #

Ok I sent them out! :)

wytch6 01/17/2009 #

Hi, This was really good fun. I how have 600 books recommended to me. Strangely enough I had only read about 5 off the lists I was sent. It is facinating to see how diverse reading tastes are. Thank you Grasshopper for a great swap.
