Squirt cheap foamy shaving cream into a container. I usually use the disposable metal trays but you can even use paper plates. Add a few drops of reinkers each of 2 colors & swirl together like you do for a marble cake. I use a unsharpened pencil. Make sure the colors will mix well (red & green make brown). Press cardstock into shaving cream just enough to cover the front of the cardstock. Remove the cardstock & scrape off the shaving cream with a ruler or old credit card. Scrape the shaving cream back into your container. Dip another piece of cardstock. You can use this several times before it starts to look too muddy. Allow your cardstock to dry before you use it. I have found light colored cardstock works best for this technique. This look is pretty enough to make a pretty card front all by itself but we are making ATC's (2 1/2 x 3 1/2) with it & then stamping, drawing or using collage to finish it. If you do not have reinkers, you can use food coloring. The thicker gel type works best. I would suggest you wear rubber gloves for this & lay newspaper over your work area. One ATC to one partner. Be sure to add a sturdy backing & your Swap bot info on the back. |
