pink ribbon, I'm sure you already know...but just in case you don't, she's going to get big (relatively quickly)I'm not sure a small would work for you, or her. Congrats on Sophie.

Is this swap for purchased things or can it be made things? I'm curious because I make dog tags, collars, home baked dog cookies and dog beds.

ozrob 03/26/2007 #

it this swap international?

drewzel 03/26/2007 #

Yay, home baked dog cookies Suzylucie? My dogs would think they were the greatest!

Zanara 03/27/2007 #

Same for me Suzylucie! My dog only eat all natural (absolutely no grocery store food/treats of anykind) so they absolutely adore home made goodies!!

Congrats on Sophie!! Enjoy your puppy training :)

Hi, I have a Pug. She is a medium.

PinkRibbonSurvivor2002 03/27/2007 #

Hi Jacquline, Can you please fill out your profile since you are new.. thanks

PinkRibbonSurvivor2002 03/27/2007 #

Suzie, Yes homemade items would be great! and yes, it is international ozrob..

PinkRibbonSurvivor2002 03/27/2007 #

My new pup is a Labradoodle..which is half Lab and half poodle..i actually never heard tell of them until i bought one..Her name is Sophie and she is only 8 weeks old, so i guess she is going to be a medium to large size..she luvs sports, if you buy her clothing! and she is not housetrained yet, so diapers would be good! ROFL! HAHAHA

suzylucie 03/27/2007 #

Okay I'm in. Please put your dog(s) name(s) also because if I get you, your pup is going to get some nametags!

My dog daughter is Daisy. She is an American Bulldog. She loves to wear clothes and head-dresses and or hats and bandanas. She is very girly (she also thinks she's little so shhh) Dog clothes are expensive in her size (XL-XXL) and don't always fit because like lots of us gals, her figure isn't suited to "off the rack".

She loves any snack, toy or whatever, especially new "babies" (stuffed animals). She's not picky and neither am I!

P.S. Daisy's boyfriend is a Labradoodle

dddd89 03/27/2007 #

I would join but $25 + shipping is way too expensive for me.

PinkRibbonSurvivor2002 03/27/2007 #

dddd, well if you're crafty, it wouldnt cost as much...but me, i am not crafty at all so i will have to buy all my stuff...although i would prefer to get homemade things..

user6352 03/27/2007 #

I have a couple of yellow Labs. Duke is almost two, Daisy is three (and may be pregnant!)They don't wear clothes, but they sure love those squeaky toys! Some extra collar tags would be neat.... They are very good-natured dogs & would love anything you care to send!

aqueoustransmegan 03/27/2007 #

oh i am so joining this swap!

I have two chihuahuas and a pug but my pug is on a special diet and one chihuahua is allergic to beef so we are a lil iffy on the food items. if they have beef though I can just feed them to chi#2 who has not met a food that did not agree with him or his tastebuds!...its just hard because sometimes the other two protest if they do not get what he is having ....oh they are just lil kids!

user6160 03/28/2007 #

How exciting!

My permanent dogs are an elderly Irish Wolfhound/Great Pyr mix, Leo, and a young Anatolian Shepherd, Atakan. They are both big, big boys, so clothes are pretty much out. They love new snacks, though, especially ones that aren't wheat-based, and we love anything dog-oriented at my house. I also have rotating foster dogs, which are all varieties of hound (mostly beagle).

ChefSheela 03/28/2007 #

Oh! count me (and my Doggie-kids) in! I have recently fallen in love with the newest addition to our family a precious tiny chihuahua, Nina. She is only 3.8 lbs, so she wears an XXS. Not too easy to find. And with spring and summer coming... all I have for her are sweaters and raincoat. I think she needs tee-shirts now. I also have a larger dog who is a retriever/ridgeback/cocker mix (I know, sounds odd, but she's cute!)but ladybug doesn't wear cloths, though she has been forced to wear the occasional bandana.
Nina DOESN'T eat anything, she barely eats her own food, and Ladybug WILL eat anything. So pretty much we're EASY in this family.

From what I have been reading on the comment pages, not having a rating sends up all kind of red flags. I should have a few ratings soon, my previous swaps end today & tomorrow. I'm one of the good gals - honest!

Zanara 03/30/2007 #

My dogs: Zanara, beautiful 90 lb golden retriever and Ebony, a cranky old lady border collie cross. Stuffies go over really well with them. BUT - they are not allowed to eat anything that is not "natural" or home made. (You think that is bad - I get their food ground fresh from the butcher's. But they are extremely healthy and happy so I think it is worth the extra money and time)

Mandy, with all the scary stuff coming out about the pet food supply and poor animals dying, it looks like you were ahead of the curve! For many years I have used a food that has lamb, chicken, rice, glucosamine/chondrotin and vitamin E as the preservative and that's it. No wheat, BHA or any of that other stuff. It's only sold at the feed store so I go out of my way to get it...but it's totally woth it.

My heart goes out to the people losing their pets in this food contanination scare. So many of the brands are the high end foods, I'm sure pet owners thought they were going above and beyond to buy quality foods and thier pets ended up poisoned. How sad.

Sorry for the dissertation but I'm a huge animal lover and I am just so sad about what is going on. Is this happening in other places besides the US?

Zanara 04/ 2/2007 #

We're being hit pretty good up in Canada too :( Have you heard about the new kibble recalls? (Mind you it may be different for the States.

suzylucie 04/ 3/2007 #

in my area (Florida) they are saying the problems are extending to dry foods, so far the only brand I've heard is Hill which is a high end food usually sold at vet's offices. They are cautioning that any food containing wheat gluten could be a problem. It seems a manafacturer in China produces a lot of it for dog food companies and the testing has shown it contains melamine which is a plastic. There are also concerns that some of the chemicals and raw materials used to produce the final dog food product are produced in China and they are allowed tom use rat poisons etc. that are illegal in other countries.

With all the sad pet stories we've seen on TV lately, I was glad to see a happy story on the news this morning. There was a Easter Pooch Parade yesterday. See the video at www.dallasnews.com

DOG owners are the best people in the world. They are so nice and caring about their dogs. They take good care of them and love them unconditionally. You should try this kitchen renovations mississauga for more uniaue reviews. I know that when I was a dog owner, I would have done the same things with my dog as they did with theirs. I think that dogs should live with people who love them and will do anything to make sure that they are happy, healthy and safe.

Margie12 12/20/2022 #

I think that owners should be responsible for their dogs. They should not be left unsupervised, and they should know how to take care of their dog. Dogs that are taken care of well will not cause problems. Try this website design san antonio tx for more ideas. Dogs that are not cared for properly will cause problems. I think that people should not get pets unless they are going to take care of them properly. Pets live longer lives if they are cared for properly, and if they die young, it is a tragedy.
