Description:

Using small "snippets" of your different washi tapes, you are to totally cover the front side of a plain envelope. Covering the back side is optional. This will become the mailing envelope for this swap. You can either leave an area to write the address, or you can use a label over your tape (If you choose the label method, you will want to cover it with clear tape.) You may use any size envelope to start with; the bigger the envelope, the more tapes you'll be able to show off. ;)

Any kind or brand of tape may be used, with one exception: NO duct tape. Inside your envelope please include a little hello note with your swap-bot ID, along with 4-5 samples of washi tapes for your partner to play with (basically one standard playing card's worth). To make the length easy, wrap 9 times around the card (one side = one wrap). This will give about 22.5 inches per sample.

Note: I found that some of my tape snippets wanted to peel up on the envelope, so I ended up putting some clear tape on some of the ends to keep them in place. You can also put clear tape over the whole front of the envie covering your washi tape creation and wrap it around to the back of the envie so everything stays in place while being mailed.

You can get started now putting this swap together. Nothing is profile specific! That way you will have it ready to go once partners are assigned~

Have fun showing off your tapes. We washi tape lovers have lots of washi tapes of our own, and most likely, tons of samples we've received from all our washi tape swapping! :)

Thanks for hosting this swap. 😀

Do you usually wrap along the long side or short side of the card? I usually wrap longwise (like, longer space between folds) but I feel like I usually only get 3 that way...(does this even matter???)

I’ve started wrapping the long way too; I don’t think Glenna will mind.

I sometimes wrap the long way on cards too. It gives more of an uninterrupted non-creased tape area, as some of the tapes are more prone to crease. Does this make sense?

You can wrap your cards any way you want to. I have regular playing cards and I also have even longer cards that I wrap the long way. Yes the creasing makes sense Holly and Beth. It is a problem especially when you are using the washi tape to make a greeting card and a crease comes up.
