Description: | |
For this swap, we will be making our partner a hinged paper doll. ' I don't technically mean that this doll has to have a human form, although creating a witch or vampire would be perfectly fine. But, it could be any kind of creature that would have moving parts. Please do not use digitally printed images of any kind for this doll. It needs to be hand drawn or made from collaged bits of professionally printed things. For example, if you wanted to make a cat doll, you could use an image from a book, magazine or scrapbook paper for the head and create a body for it. Each doll needs to have at least 5 moving parts - for example, the doll in the picture has hinged arms, legs, and head. The size can be any size you want within these guidelines - it needs to be at least 8" tall and not larger than 14". When the completed doll is finished, it should be able to be folded up and put into a 5" x 7" envelope. The doll base should be made on heavyweight cardstock, watercolor paper or chipboard. You can paint or collage clothes or decorations onto your doll - they do not need to be removable. You can also add any kind of embellishments that you want to your doll. Please use brads (any style) to hinge your doll The back does not need to be decorated, but please add the swap name, and your name and date to the back. You can add a hanger to the top if you like but not required. This swap is going to be senders choice, so you can start your doll at any time. Let's do our very best work and create something that is so wonderful, you'll have a hard time passing it on. Might be wise to make two of them in fact! Have fun! |
