I hope to host a series of paper crafts with Washi Tape added to a themed item if there is enough interest. For this first swap, start with a somewhat sturdy base, such as a cracker or cereal box. Cut a piece of any size between ATC (2.5 Γ 3.5") up to 5 x 7". "Build" a house on it using paper scraps, paint, fabric, etc. (This is a flat piece of art, not 3D.) Somewhere on your house, add washi tapes. Ideas include wood grain washi for a door, random torn strips along the edges, grass tape along the bottom, cut out birds on the roof...just depends on what tape you have. If you want to, and have a lot of different tapes, you can do the whole thing out of tape! Some tape is really sticky and won't need any help, but some might need a bit of glue stick or other glue behind it. You don't want the edges curling up and looking like peeled paint...unless that is the look you are going for! Another option is to stick your washi on white paper and either cut or punch it out, then glue it down to the base. You may choose to cut your house out, or perhaps add a background to make it part of a scene. It can be wonky shaped, or somewhat traditional. I have a huge collection of colorful little houses, and many of them have washi on them. Once you are finished, package it securely, send on time and rate promptly. |
