Description:

International swap, 1 partner. Type 3 because it will take some time if done right, but should be lightweight to mail. :)

I would like to encourage (shall we say) myself to do some creative writing, and I thought some of you might want to join me. :)

Each month, I'm going to post a swap with a few topics or story starters, and for the swap, all you'll need to do is write to the prompt. You are only required to write to ONE prompt per swap, but you can certainly do more if you would like.

You can handwrite (if your writing is nice and clear for your partner to read) or type the swap you send to your partner, and you should write at least a full page, or about 500 words. This way we can all get the creative juices flowing, but it will be lightweight to mail, and hopefully lots can join in the fun. :) You can join all or just one of the series, it's up to you. Do what you feel comfortable with and have fun. :) Please try to keep the story/prompt 'PG' for your partner, as not all are ok with more adult topics.

You don't have to wait for partners to be assigned before you start writing. If you have an idea and want to write ahead of time, that's fine!

January prompts to choose from:

You are the wind's interpreter. What is it saying?

Come up with a mathematical formula to express something you know/believe. (Example: Long Saturday run + Frappuchino = Happiness.) Explain your formula.

Name one thing you have lied to yourself about. Why did you do this?

What did you get into trouble for the most when you were a kid? Would you still do those things now? Explain

Do you prefer taking risks or having a safety net? Why?

Or, for a more 'story' feel, choose one of these:

Write a story to this prompt: Today at the Amusement Park - include at least 3 of the following in your story (underline or highlight, if possible) - Ferris wheel / revive / dinosaur / split / disk / assumption / exceed / narrow / snickerdoodle / join

Write a story to this prompt: A Day in the Life - include at least 3 of the following in your story - identical / pot roast / decorate / sign / abuse / library / amnesia / butcher / submit / sensation

Write a story to this prompt: The Last Moment of Childhood - include at least 3 of the following - Halloween / refrigerator / pier / strengthen / voices / surprise / contribute / bird / iron / requirement

Write a story to this prompt: A Couple on a Cruise - include at least 3 of the following: nosy / sponsor / passenger / willing / smile / brew / yellow / neighbor / hundred / stairwell

So, a recap! Sign up, choose one prompt or story prompt and write or type about 1 page or 500 words for your partner. Send it off to your partner before send by, and rate your partner when you receive your swap. Sound good? You can always write more if the mood hits, but please try to send at least a 1 page swap to your partner. No extras are required.

IF you are WATCHING and are INTERESTED in the swap, please leave a comment below so I can see if I've got a hit or miss with this idea. Thanks!

If you have any questions or if I haven't explained anything well, please send me a PM and ask, and I'll respond as soon as I am able. No question is 'bad' - I have the idea in my head, but don't always explain well, so you are all my proofreaders. :)

(Prompts were chosen from "300 Writing Prompts" and "Write The Story", published by Piccadilly (USA) Can be found online or in most new book stores.)
