I use these little notes in most of my swaps. They are easy to make and are a fun way to use up samples and ends of rolls. Please read and follow the instructions carefully. You will start with 1 full sheet, 8.5×11" of WHITE cardstock. You may cut it in half (5.5×8.5) if you have shorter bits of tape to use. Use a glue stick to cover the surface of one whole side. This will be the side you adhere your washi tape to. If you skip this step, your tape has a good chance of coming off. Choose a spot to start, somewhere near the middle of the card and lay strips of tape side by side on the diagonal until the whole surface is covered. Your tapes don't need to coordinate unless you want them to. Cover the entire surface of card on the side you put down the glue. Use a bone folder or credit card to lightly burnish the tapes to make sure they are stuck down. Trim off the excess tapes overlapping on all the sides. Using a paper trimmer or straight edge and blade, cut your cards into 8 equal pieces. 1st cut is 5.5 x 8". Second cut is 5.5 x 4.25". Third cut is 4.25 x 2.75" When you are done you should have 8 pieces, covered with tape on one side, blank white on the other. Package these up, send on time, rate promptly. |
