Santa Claus is St. Nick - card swap

We all know that delightfully chubby bundle of joy - Santa Claus! But what most people don't know is that Santa is based on St. Nicolaus of Myra. He was a bishop long, long ago who was known for his generous gift giving to the poor. This was so powerful that his legend echoes throughout history till now. Most people are unaware that he is a Christian saint. Even anti-religious people are celebrating the birth of Christ using the image of St. Nicolaus, which is a beautiful irony, in my opinion.

In this easy swap, we will celebrate the man who became SANTA CLAUS.

Send your partner a store bought or nice handmade Christmas card featuring an image of Santa! Write a nice note inside, maybe talk about St. Nicolaus, a nice memory of Santa that you have from childhood, your favorite representation of Santa in a movie, etc. Tuck in at least one goodie...stickers, washi, tags, paper, handmade lovelies...featuring Santa! Say a prayer for your partner and send it. Easy peasy.

We will send this by Dec. 1st so hopefully it can arrive in time for St. Nick's feast day, which is Dec. 6th.
