Description:

In this swap, we will be making little projects for our partners using sewing, embroidery, cross-stitch, patchwork, crochet, and/or knitting. If there's another kind of stitchery I've forgotten to mention, please let me know! πŸ™‚

Take your time, de-stress, and bring something 😊happy😊 into this world. Make something entirely from scratch, or embellish something lovely. One project for one partner.

This swap is open to stitchers of all experience levels, so be sure you're not expecting to receive professional quality work. The idea is to be inclusive and share a relaxing, meditative hobby with our friends.

I'm hosting this as a local U.S. swap because of various international postal restrictions and delays due to the global pandemic. I look forward to hosting international versions in the future, if there is interest.

Please check your partner's profile for any allergies (e.g. wool) or dislikes before starting your project. You will have a full four weeks after partner assignment to make your little project. Take your time, enjoy the process. Be sure to package your creation carefully as you send it on its way home. Have fun! β™₯

As always, contact me via swap-bot message with any questions or concerns. I will "angel" this swap in the unlikely event that it becomes necessary.

Ideas for itty bitty projects:

β€’ ATC, greeting card, or postcard (please leave card message area blank for recipient to use)

β€’ amigurumi or other little plushies

β€’ badge / patch

You forgot Sashiko embroidery and ribbon embroidery, also Tatting and lacemaking.

Thanks!

Am I able to make a small embroidery and just send that? without the hoop?

phillaine 05/ 9/2021 #

@Kaitlynsansi -- yes! Just be sure you have it finished well with space left around the edges so it can be framed by the recipient if they wish.

Sorry for the delay in partner assignment. I was dealing with a family medical emergency over the weekend. I've extended the deadline by 3 days to make up for it. Thanks!

phillaine 06/24/2021 #

With only 5 of our 16 participants having sent, I've extended the deadline from tomorrow until Monday to give everyone the extra weekend so nobody feels rushed at the end of the work week. I normally like my due dates to be on Monday or Tuesday anyway, which I should've figured in for my original extension. Be well, stay safe, and all the best to you. β™₯
