Description:

This swap will be the first in a series. I am not 100% it will work out, but I would like to give it a go and see if others are equally interested.

For round 1 - you will create an improv block that has a finished measurement of 6x6. The block should measure 6 1/2" X 6 1/2" so that once sewn into the quilt is 6x6. There are absolutely no rules in terms of colors/patterns/etc. The only rule is quilting cottons only. No flannel, wool, etc. I recommend that you make 2 (keep one for yourself). You will mail 1 partner 1 block. I am hoping we end up with enough blocks to make a quilt towards the end.

Anyone in this group can sign up. However, I reserve the right to ban anyone with recent 1's, 3's, or a low overall score.

so the quilt block should be 6 1/2 x 6 1/2 when mailed and then will end up 6 x 6 when put into a quilt...yes?

@perkl8r yes, updated instructions to reflect that. Thank you.

I'm glad you clarified that. I thought it would be a finished mini-quilt.

If you want to end up with a quilt you must be planning on about 2 years of these swaps. Maybe you should ask for two blocks, or maybe aim for something like 12 blocks that, if a border were added could become a place mat

@junemoon You can make it whatever you would like (quilt, table runner, pillows, etc). That is left up to the receiver. I do recommend you make 2 (keep one, send one) in the instructions. I can certainly increase the frequency of the swaps if there is interest or increase partners as well. I just wanted to start somewhere and see if anyone else was interested and go from there.
