Description:

Thanks to @90960 for allowing me to host an international version of this swap and to use some of her swap description!

This is a collaborative swap, based on 1 sheet of paper folded into a mini-booklet. How to fold a mini-zine

Please keep it FLAT & LIGHT to save on postage. You can unfold the book down the middle to send a flatter version.

New participants

Make a 1-page booklet using either a sheet of letter size 8.5"x11" paper or a piece of A4 paper. See the link above for how to fold a mini-zine. The paper should be sturdy enough for gluing. Please do not use a sheet of glossy/slick paper, most glues don't stick well to glossy paper.

It will be an open theme journal. Subsequent participants may take cues from your cover but they don't have to.

Decorate the cover and back page. There will be 6 pages for 6 swappers to decorate.

In order for the filled booklet to be returned to you, you will need to write your Swap-Bot username, and email address on the back cover page (and your mailing address if you want to). You can also open the book up and put it on the inside cover page (for good measure).

In forthcoming months, participants will decorate one page and then send the booklet on to the next artist.

Participants can decorate their page how they wish--draw, mixed media, paint, glue-book-style, etc. No bulky embellishments please.

Do not glue the base page together. It must be able to be unfolded. so participants can leave information on the back of their decorated page.

Send the booklet to your partner.

Save the booklet you receive for the next round.

Eventually, when the book is full it will be returned to its original owner.

If at some point you can not continue on to the next go-round, return the booklet to me (contact me for my address) and I'll put it back into circulation.

Message me if you have any questions.

Returning participants:

You will have received a booklet from the last round and decorated a page in the booklet. Send it to your Round 2 partner. When you receive your Round #2 booklet, decorate the next available page. Hold on to the booklet for the next round.

Carefully unfold the booklet. Add your swap-bot username and your email address on the back of your page. You can add more info if you would like, for example a description of what you created. Use pencil, or ink that doesn't bleed through the paper.

Thank you for continuing this swap!

Could it be any type of paper as long as its the right size (and can be glued on)?
For example, bookpage, sheet music, coloured paper, of should it be plain white?

Protip: If you use any acrylic paint or Modpodge, a light dusting of cornstarch or talcum powder will keep the pages from sticking to each other.

Apologies for not responding to the comments -- I was in hospital and got a bit behind with things. Yes, it can be any kind of paper but be aware that you might be limiting what future artists feel that they can do in the journal. It's also better not to, for instance, use card, because of the weight -- this is an international swap and we want to keep the postage affordable. And Daisy -- great tip!
