Regional: USA/Canada 1 CMAJ (collaborative mini art journal) booklet for one partner. (Also known as deco/travelling art journal/collaborative zine) New or established origami pamphlet style CMAJ/deco. The booklet is sent around from artist to artist. Each person that receives the deco will decorate one page according to the theme of the booklet (if there is one) and put their contact information and name/username on their entry. Typically, each entrant in the mini art journal booklet must use one side of a page to express themselves (some booklet creators may request a 2-page spread). New CMAJs/Decos: Use an 8.5 X 11 inch piece of paper or smaller, but no smaller than 6" X 9". Fold the sheet to make 8 panels. Pick from 2 kinds of cuts. The usual cut is in the middle of the folded paper, the other continues the cut to the end of the sheet. Here are some photos to demonstrate. Cut along the red line. Folded results. You choose which cut you prefer. Decorate the front and back pages (covers). Include the swap name, your mailing address and email on the back of the cover so your zine can be returned to you when complete. Or just your email and a note to email you for your current mailing address. We must be able to unfold the CMAJ to write our information on the back of our decorated page. Do not glue your pages together. The theme is sender's choice. It can be no-theme/open-theme. When you make a new CMAJ, you decide if you want contributors to fill one page (the norm for decos) or a 2-page spread. If you decide on a 2-page spread, put a note in your CMAJ to let contributors know since the expectation is 1-page. Established CMAJs (go-round zines/decos): Established CMAJs/go-round zines/decos, please include your swap-bot user name on the back of the page your decorate (or on the front if you prefer). Keep the embellishments slim so participants can use regular lettermail postage. Examples: Here's an example of a completed one-sheet collaborative CMAJ/zine go-round/deco: A request regarding rating comments. As a host, I like to read all of the rating comments, and I live vicariously through those comments. I would love to know whose deco you received and what the theme is. π€ See my profile @9o96o for information about my hosting style.
