I love Disney trading pins! We have had such a good time with these on our few visits to Walt Disney World in Florida. I am not very knowledgeable about the pins, but have quite a collection I'd love to trade :-) Thank you for coordinating diddldonna!

I have a terrible feeling I've been mislead about Disney Trading Pins. When I told my daughter about this swap she warned me that I had better check to see if my pins are "official." She has become quite the Disney fanatic in the last couple years.

I went searching for information on the pins I plan to send to my partners, and I think every single pin I traded for when we were in DisneyWorld three years ago are not "official" Disney pins. I don't know how to tell official from non-official, and there is so much information on the 'net that I can't sift the garbage from the truth.

Now I am in a quandary.... I am about to pack up all the pins I have and send them to my partner just because I don't know how to figure out what is "real" and what isn't :-(

if behind your pins you have disneyland or WDW, or something like that it's OK

They all say Disney, some have the Mickey ear logo. Some have pin numbers, some don't. I am going to take a picture of my collection when I get home today and post it in the gallery to see if any of the swappers here recognize them as legitimate pins. I had such fun trading for these, so I hope I have not made a mistake in thinking I have authentic Disney trading pins.

Found this info:

WHAT IS A "BACK STAMP?" A pin's back stamp contains information about the pin and can include such items as the manufacturer (ร‚ยฎDisney), copyright information, edition size, and where it was made. Not all information is always stamped into the back of the pin.

I have the book which i can check against but i think yours are probally all okay, like it says not all have the info stamped on the back.

Okay, my collection is in the gallery here. I am going to email my partner to see if she can access the gallery and peek at the pins. She may know by looking if these are real or not. I love these pins. I specifically went looking for pins relating to movies and that's why have so many of the big movie poster pins. They are heavy, but they looked cool on the lanyard :-)

Also, all the pins in my collection were traded for with cast members at WaltDisneyWorld in Florida. I didn't buy any from eBay or other sites.

Okay, I found a site that has most of my pins (http://www.pinpics.com) and I think I am all set now. Whew. I was so afraid I would be sending counterfeit pins.

I want to go back to Disney World! Playing with my pins and picking out two to send to my partner has made me remember all the fun my two grown daughters and I had on our last visit to DisneyWorld :-)
