Description:

NOTE: DUE DATE ADJUSTED TO JANUARY 17 AS PREVIOUS DUE DATE (JANUARY 16) IS A US POSTAL HOLIDAY

I decided that it might be fun to do an ABC's of 2022! These are "year in review" questions, some intended to be lighthearted, others intended to be more reflective. I made sure they were substantially different from the ongoing type 1 2022 swap.

This swap is type 2, so you will be sending your partner a letter. It may be neatly handwritten or typed. Please use stationery or decorated paper, but do not feel the need to go overboard -- just a bit of visual interest. It is more important to fully answer the questions and write in full sentences. You do not need to write out the question, but please make it clear what letter you are answering.

Because this may turn out to be quite a bit of writing, you will have plenty of time to complete. Of course, you can start reflecting and writing as soon as you join. This swap does not include goals or resolutions for 2023, but with any luck, perhaps it will prompt you to think about areas that need attention.

Here are the questions!

QUESTIONS

A - What is your biggest accomplishment of the year?

B - What is your favorite book you read this year? Did you read as much as you would've liked?

C - Will you celebrate the new year? Did you have any memorable celebrations for other holidays?

D - What is the most dangerous situation you were in this year? Was it a result of your choices, or did it happen at random?

E - What unexpected things brought you enjoyment this year?

F - Do you think you were a good friend to those you care about this year? Why or why not?

G - What were you grateful for during this year -- anything new that you hadn't felt gratitude for in the past?

H - What hobbies took up your time? Did you acquire any new ones?

I - What do you feel you could've improved on, or made more progress on?

J - Did you ever find that you had rendered judgment on a person or situation prematurely and unfairly? If you acted on that judgment, did you do anything to set things right?

K - What is the kindest thing another person has done for you this year? How about the kindest thing you've done for someone else?

L - Did you listen to a lot of music? Podcasts? Audiobooks? Any favorites?

M - What was your favorite movie this year? Was it new, or new to you? Did you see any in theaters?

N - What did you feel that you needed this year that you didn't get?

O - Did you spend any significant portion of the year oblivious to something you really should've been paying attention to? If you're comfortable sharing, what was it, and are you more present with it now?

P - Did you learn any new practical skills? What were they?

Q - Sometimes things happen that cause us to have more questions than answers. What is something you're currently questioning because of 2022?

R - Are you happy with the way you handled your interpersonal relationships in 2022? Did you start or end any relationships that became significant?

S - What stood out as your biggest strengths?

T - If you could take back anything you did this year, what would it be?

U - What is the most unusual thing that happened to you? Anything that would be difficult for others to believe?

V - Did you go on any vacations?

W - What did you do for work this year? If you didn't work, how did you spend your time in ways that made you feel productive?

X - X-rays! Did you break, fracture, or sprain anything?

Y - What is something you said yes to this year, that you would've turned down in the past?

Z - When in the year was your overall well-being and prosperity at its zenith? Why?

THE NITTY-GRITTY

  • one letter to one partner

  • Letter must be neatly handwritten or typed.

  • Use stationery or decorate your paper.

  • Write in full sentences.

  • Must have 10 completed type 2 and type 3 swaps.

  • No extras required -- please rate promptly and fairly based on effort and content! Please do not mention anything personal from the letter in the rating, of course -- that is more appropriate for DM.

  • No late swaps on dashboard, no unexplained 1's or 3's.

  • Users may be dropped at my discretion. Please message me directly if you believe there is anything questionable on your profile (or anyone questionable in the swap who I may not be aware of).

  • Message me AND your partner if you will be late for any reason. I will angel this swap after a 1 rating has been given.

  • Message me directly with any questions! If you need clarification on any of the questions in the swap itself, please put that in the comment section so that others who may be wondering the same can see the answer.

Have fun! Happy 2023!

Note: I am carefully monitoring participants for this swap. I will remove problem swappers as I go, as well as do one more run-through to make sure no one has late swaps on their dash and everyone has recently logged in before assigning.

I have decided to allow members who "slant-meet" criteria. For example, if someone has completed 13 type 2/3 swaps, but only 5 have been rated, I will allow them to join if these swaps had multiple partners and over 10 type 2/3 ratings have accumulated as a result, given that the swaps in question required sufficient effort. Of course, they will be dropped for late swaps or not logging in just like everyone else. I acknowledge that I increase my liability in terms of potential angels by allowing these members, but I am comfortable with this decision (and so far, it is only one person).

I will continue to be in touch should anything new arise. Thanks for reading!
