NOTE: I meant to create this as a group swap but accidentally created it as a public swap. Several people have joined the public swap so I'm leaving it up, but am also creating it here for those who prefer to swap within the group. Please don't sign up for it both times! Thank you to everyone who has been joining in these swaps! I've been enjoying these reading challenges and hope you are too! I enjoy being pushed to read a bit outside my usual genres and I know the same is true for other people as well, so I thought I'd post a series of reading challenge swaps. Each time I'll list 5 challenges. Pick ONE. Read (or listen to) the book for that challenge. Then email your partners. Tell them what you read including the author and the title, and which challenge it was for. Write a paragraph about the book. What was it about? Did you like it? Did you dislike it? Was it already familiar to you or was it a new departure? Would you recommend it as a good read? Anything you like really -- but do write more than a brief sentence. CHALLENGES FOR SWAP #5 (remember, you only have to read one book -- not all five!) (1) A book about a mother-daughter relationship (2) A book by an African writer (3) A book written before 1900 (4) A book set in wartime (5) A book about art or about crafting |
