Description:

You do not need to be an artist - this is for all levels!

This is for those who enjoy creating something they can keep themselves, for those who like to look back on their art and have nice journals on the shelf. I see so many ideas online, but I need to have a swap to motivate me with a deadline to "finish" my idea/journal page.

For this swap - You must have a basic art journal/scrap book or create one yourself. There are three pages to complete or two if you can fit it onto two. It completely depends on the size of your journal of course. I will do further Journal Keeper swaps during the year.

You can decorate the journal pages with a border of washi or leave it plain - make a title for your study on the chosen shape.

Choose a shape, circle, square, rectangle, star, triangle, diamond, hexagon, etc.

  1. Collage - Cut out your shape from magazines, decorative papers, newspapers, wrapping paper etc. and create a page from the shape. The page can be completely covered, overlapping, in patterns, rows or whatever creative idea you come up with. Have at least 10 of your chosen shape. They can all be the same size or different sizes.

    and

  2. Using any medium, paint, crayons, stamping, ribbon, sequins, glitter, sewing, etc. create a page using the chosen shape. Colourful, monochromatic, outlined, patterned, bordered etc, whatever you like.

    and

  3. Artist profile: look online for an artist who uses the shape you chose within their work, select a couple of their art works and print them out (onto paper or photo works well too) and write a couple of sentences about the artist, and why you like (or don't like) their work. Add them into your journal as an artist profile. (Artist does not need to be famous).

Feel free to create other pages if you want to do a more in-depth study.

Look online/in books/in the street for inspiration if you are stuck.

We'll have two partners. Take photos of your finished pages and send them via email to your partners. Email addresses are in the contact pop-up on the swap after it begins. Please remember to rate. We have almost a month to complete our pages.

Newbies are welcome but if you have not yet been rated, please send me a message via the message button.

Tip: "use it up" - use what you already have at home - I am sure we all have more than enough supplies :)
