I would really like to join but I got flaked on in the last handbag swap you hosted. Don't really want to take a chance again.

Me too as well...on my very own swap! :S Hey here's a thought: we can send each other one in order for us to at least receive one? Let me know if you're in for it ^-^

I'm watching for now, I'll be sure to have been in 10 swaps until this starts so I can join this awesome swap! :-)

You know, this really sucks. The first swap I joined was an email swap, I got 3 partners, and only 1 of them actually rated me and it took her like a month to do so. How are we ever, Ever supposed to get ratings so we can join the cooler and better swaps like this one??!! I'm an excellent sewer, I just bought a machine worth 2 grand, a Husqvarna, and I named her Brunhilda....come on, Swap-Bot!!! How are we ever supposed to get involved like this??

YungBelles, I'm so sorry you have a bad experiance on swapbot. I have never had any trouble being rated or getting onto swaps. I would suggest you check the forum under "One on One Trades". There are some lovely ladies that will do swaps with just you to help you get the ratings you need. I think it was also helpful for me to have a flickr site where I could show off my handiwork. Good luck and welcome to swapbot.

Question- I consider a 'handbag' to be a sort of purse. Would this be what I might call a 'tote bag'? Or a rectangular bag with handles and possibly a few pockets? (Plus all the embellishments you require in this case) I think there might be a little cultural difference here in the name of the item. So I just wanted to check. Thanks

Noni82 06/22/2009 #

@magpie55 Oops! I guess you're right, a totebag is indeed what us Dutchies call a handbag if you translate it :P And indeed just a rectangular bag with handles sized about 36 x 40 cm.

I was pretty sure that was what you meant. It is interesting to me to hear different terms for the same thing. I won't be able to join this swap as the time to make this bag is quite short and my son will be home on leave from the air force for a week right in the middle. Hope you have a great swap. It would be really fun. Maybe another time.

@ Noni82, I thought you meant like a regular purse! So this is a handbag/totebag you might use to put books or shopping in? I am watching for now.

Noni82 07/ 9/2009 #

@psychedelikat yes, more like a totebag indeed ^-^

I will join this if someone can tell me in "inches" what 36 x 40 cm is. These bags are so earth friendly!! I never bring plastic home now that I carry a handbag ( I called it my "green" bag). I wish everyone would carry one in their purse or backpack so that they can have that filled instead of taking home plastic bags. Those things just go into the land fill......whoops....just got on my soapbox sorry!

Kicki 08/10/2009 #

Hi Carriel, it is 14,2 x 15,7 inches - or 14 x 16 I´d think would be easier :)

I agree with you, if people would to use totebags instead of plastic we´ve save a lot.
