Hi, sorry, I've just got to ask, why don't you want the paper beads to be glazed? Would they just be paper then, no varnish or anything. I've always fancied making some, but they wouldn't be very durable, would they?

beadeful 06/13/2009 #

Hi seasidegirl, I've received glazed paper beads in the past and they've been varnished with a strong scented varnish that make my eyes water. I'd prefer to use my own glaze that doesn't water the eyes - such as Crafter's Pick - Decoupage and Collage Gel and Ultra Thick Embossing Enamel.

If your partner doesn't mind you glazing - feel free to glaze, but you should ASK BEFORE SENDING.

P.S. The Origami Paper Beads in the logo picture are not glazed and are plenty sturdy. The sturdiness of a paper bead if unglazed will depend on the glue used when rolling.

I will make my bead from seedbeads and glass beads, that's okay, right?

beadeful 06/18/2009 #

Chrystallinya, that's an interesting technique. Do you just build around it. Please post or PM a picture. But yes, if this is how you make your beads, you may use any medium that you normally use.
