Description: | |
For this swap you will make an email FB and pass it on to your three partners. What is an FB? 'Friendship books (also known as "FBs" in their abbreviated form) are small booklets made by stapling paper together, or are sometimes just sheets or strips of paper. They are usually decorated and the person who starts the book writes their name and address as the first person sending the book. People often include a list of interests as well. The FB is then passed around from penpal to penpal, and can often also become a way for one to meet new penpals. Most people hope to see the book again once it is full so they add their return address to the back cover of the book too, or inscribe "Return to Sender" on it. People also sometimes make FBs for someone else rather than themselves, in which case they write the name and address of the recipient on the front/at the top. Some people find friendship books fun because you can see where they have been in a trail back to the original sender/recipient.' OK, so what's an email FB then? An email FB is just the same as a normal FB, but ovbiously, it circulates through email, rather than through the mail. Because it's being passed around in this method, most people include their email address, rather than their postal address. For example, I might write: "Jay Snelling, [email protected] - born 1986, lives in the UK. Loves swapping, reading and listening to music. Would love to have some new email or postal pals" Then, I would pass it on and the next person would forward the email and add their details under mine. If someone received the email FB and thought they would like to email or write to somebody on the list, they can simply email them. I hope all this makes sense. Please leave a comment or PM me if you have any questions. Have fun! |
