Someone start listing some ideas for this. My brain isn't working.

RyeRye 08/ 7/2009 #

walk around your craftroom and what ever fits thru the hole, drop it in!
pens, new pencils, magnets, buttons, ribbon, jewelry, charms, post cards (can be rolled up and dropped in to expand inside), doiley's, tacks, hair accessories, key chains, cat toys, ........photo of yourself so we can see who we are dealing with lol......

Well, I mean, I keep so many pictures of me in my craft room it will be hard to decide which one...LOL.

this sounds awesome!!! definately joining! what a neat idea!

AwtemNymf 08/21/2009 #

ya know I've totally seen these... it sounds like the "message in a bottle" thing-amah-jiggy! I'm always afraid that someone will steal it because they can see thru. Hmmm- maybe confirmation delivery will keep sticky fingers at bay? thinks

Cool idea . . . but I'll be away from home during the swap period. Hope you do another if this one is successful :)

I was in a secret pal knitting swap and I received a 2 liter bottle with all sorts of stuff in it. Took me the longest time to figure out how they got the stuff in there (can't exactly put a skein of yarn through the top). They took an exacto knife and cut a three sided flap on the long side of the bottle, gently folded it back until they could get everything in it, then put the flap back down, taped it up, put a label over it and ta da! Coolest thing ever!

In fact, here's a link to the picture I took of it.

Maybe we could do one of these down the road? Perhaps for the holidays?

I meant to also add that I'm just starting fall semester and don't have time to work this swap into my schedule but if we do a 2 liter bottle one down the road, count me in!

Sounds like fun but man, RyeRye, you like a fast turnaround! I have to sit this one out. :( Maybe next time.

RyeRye 08/25/2009 #

soory. I do like the fast turnaround so I can get in more swaps or create others. I'll slow down soon. argggggg

I would be fascinated to hear about your mailing experiences with the plastic bottle. My mail lady thinks I have finally went over the edge. They think I am nuts because I am the one who receives the most mail in my town and mails the most!!! lol. My husband thinks it may be grounds for divorce. lol.
