Meta Mail Art ATC
ATCs, as a form of art traded through the mail, constitute a form of mail art in and of themselves Γ’β‚¬β€œ (see description here ). Mail art as a whole, though, is a pretty broad umbrella. So for this swap, the theme of the ATC itself is mail art: whatever that means to you, apply it to your ATC.

Any technique of creation is fair game Γ’β‚¬β€œ whatever medium you work with, go for it. Pencil sketches are as welcome as mixed media collage, textiles as welcome as digitally manipulated artwork.

Swap requirements

  • 2 partners = 1 ATC sent to each partner
  • ATC to meet standard size, 2.5Ò€ x 3.5Ò€
  • Reverse of ATC to be signed & dated (additional info entirely optional, e.g. contact details, edition, medium etc)
  • If you haven't included your SB user name on the ATC reverse, make sure it is clearly marked either on the envelope or included in a separate note.

The obvious bit
You already had to have a rating of 4.9+ with no recent no-sends, 1s or 3s to join this group anyway, so the same stands for this swap. But I will still double-check before assigning partners, so if you have what you feel is an unfair comment or rating, just PM me & we can try to work it out. :-)

I wonder if an atc could be sent as naked mail? That would be very cool :]

Unfortunately, I don't think it could, as most countries have minimum size requirements for mailing. In the USA, I think this is 3.5" x 5", and in the UK, slightly smaller (but still not small enough) at 7.5cm x 10.5cm. But there's probably a way to fix the ATC to a card or envelope, or connect 2 ATCs together, if you wanted to experiment...! :-)

I have pushed back the sign-up date by a couple of days, as (due to moving house), I will not have home internet access until around the 16th of Feb. I will check participants & assign partners as soon as I can after the new sign-up date, but please give me a couple of days' grace, just in case there are any 'hiccups' with the reconnection.

I have added a small envelope to a postcard before - to place die cuts or cancelled stamps in it - and have had no problem with getting it delivered. It makes the cost of the pc go up to first class mail, but it is well worth the fun.

Well, since the US size is exactly the size of two ATCs, it might be fun to design a "spread" that is meant to be cut out after it is mailed to make two cards. I know this swap only calls for one card, but it might be fun none the less. Now, I'm thinking! M

Aw, shoot. I already did mine. This is exactly what I did, but I only did one! Oh well, my partner will lose out. :( Well, at least the postmark will be on the ATC part. :)

I love all the ideas that are flying around with this swap! Can't wait to see what everyone comes up with :-)
