Description:

I am going to be making several of these journals throughout the year.
A journal is a sturdy notebook that has a hardback cover and plenty of pages inside (blank or lined). Please no handmade notebooks. I've seen some made with just A4 pieces of paper stabled together.

Swap Requirements
You must send to your partner. 1 store bought, hard covered or plastic covered journal, 1 postcard, 1 good quality item from your town like a keyring/magnet/bookmark and at least 1 leaflet from your town/city/village/country.

In the journal you must fill it with photos(taken by yourself) and town history which you can find from your own knowledge, the internet or just asking people in your town. Maybe there's a legend? Murders? A war? that's happen in your town? You must fill a minimum of 15 pages. (This isn't hard, I've done the swap before)

You can decorate the pages if you like or just put photos on them and write around them. If you find it hard to get a hard backed journal, you may use a self assemble photo album (the ones you peel the plastic back from).

The postage shouldn't be more then £5 since we're in the UK and there is no limit on how much you should spend since it's mainly a craft swap. For those who don't have printers and find the kiosks in town expensive, try snapfish.com for your photos, you can print like 40 for £2 and if the offers still on, they give you 40 free prints when you sign up. You will have half a month to sign up and 1 month to make and send off your product, so its slow paced and a really fun relaxing swap! Lets discover our beautiful country through the eyes of those who live here.

Who's Allowed?
People who meet the groups requirements, no newbies please, you must have at least 5 big swaps (Packages!). Please message or comment below for any additional information. =]

I did it as an international swap once, sending to Alaska, the postage was so high I had to ask if I could send it surface mail. So just around the UK should be so much better, plus I found out so much about my own town doing this =]

I know this is a silly question because I have already read that photos must be taken by the person doing the swap. However, I don't have a camera and wondered whether I could use photos downloaded from the internet? I can fulfil all the other criteria.

Yeah, I don't see no harm in it, it might just take the slight fun out of it for you. Since when taking photos, you have to explore your town. xx
