Description:

Hello! For this swap you will have two partners.

Please e-mail each partner a list of your five favourite vegan cookbooks. You don't have to rank or rate the cookbooks unless you want to, but you do need to include the following information:

For each of the five cookbooks, fill in the following information:

  1. TITLE OF BOOK AND NAME OF AUTHOR
  2. THEME OF COOKBOOK
  3. WHY I LIKE THE COOKBOOK
  4. A REVIEW OF ONE RECIPE

To elaborate for each of these categories:

  1. Should be obvious :)

  2. Many cookbooks have a general theme even if it isn't explicitly stated on the cover. Flip through the cookbook and see if there is a certain country's cuisine or a certain ingredient or food item that frequently makes an appearance in the book.

For example, I'd say that the Fresh At Home cookbook has a theme of Asian-fusion style healthy cooking, focussing primarily on rice bowls, noodle bowls, freshly squeezed juices, and special drinks for athletes. Another example: The Glad Cow Cookbook focuses primarily on North American cuisine and comfort food, and it has an entire chapter for coffee cake and an entire chapter for biscotti.

  1. This should also be obvious :) Talk about the things that appeal to you with this book; maybe all the recipes you've made have been delicious, maybe they are quick or inexpensive or they focus on your favourite cuisine, etc.

  2. For this, you should have the name of the recipe and the page number, and a description of the recipe and what makes it awesome. (Example, "VeganYumYum's Hurry Up alfredo on page 196 is a cashew-based sauce that can be made in the blender in under five minutes. I've made it dozens of times and even the omnivores I know love it. I've found that I can switch the soymilk for coconut milk and it's delicious either way.")

Anyone in the group is allowed in the swap. If anyone doesn't receive their swap, check your junk mail folder to make sure it hasn't been routed there by mistake. If you truly haven't received, I can angel if you'd like.

Phooey, I think I only use 3 vegan cookbooks, and all by Isa and/or Terry, lol. :)
