Description:

This is a swap of FBS/Decos/label bags for people who DO NOT have a 5.0 rating. This one is for those of us who are good swappers, but have made mistakes.
Fill a 6x9 envie with fbs etc. and mail it to your partner. I will put a to be sent by, but it's not strict, so if you are late, that is ok, just try to send it soon after the deadline. If you get the Fbs, rate a 5. I would SUGGEST NO 3's, we all know how that feels, but I can't tell you not to rate a 3 if you must. I have to stay in the sites guidelines. I will angel if you get nothing.
This is to help people build up from mistakes, and newbies are also welcome. Swapping is fun!!!!! Let's have fun!!!!!!
UPDATED: The envelopes should be sent by the end of SEPT, no later. If you can't, PM me, I will help you. Stuff happens. ALSO, envelopes should be FULL, and please send good FB's. BEWARE ALL PARTICIPANTS-- I do not believe in tossing FB"S due to theme, signers or condition. So, if you have a less than gorgeous FB, they still have to be moved. Someone made it, it doesn't deserve to be trashed. So, beware, all FB's might not be wonderful. If you get one less than pretty, make it pretty, we're artists, right?
So, full envies, Sept 30th absolute deadline, ask me for help.
Thanks. UPDATED AGAIN. Everyone in this swap can see the contraversy this has caused. I hope that further viewers will understand that this is not an attack on anyone. I will also set the deadline as Sept. 30, send earlier if you can, but that is the last day, it should give you all plenty of time to get an envie together.

So, if I send a year late, I still get a perfect rating? At what point is it not ok to be late?

pahasiga 08/19/2010 #

A swap for swappers who have made mistakes and intend to keep it (mistake-making) up. ;)

LINDA50 08/19/2010 #

Having a 5.0 rating does not have to mean you have not made a mistake. It could mean that you have rectified any mistakes you have made.

This swap is strange indeed, in a brainless sort of way.

caregvr1 08/19/2010 #

Great idea to give people a chance to get a better rating!

Sunshine9905 08/19/2010 #

How about just following the rules in the first place. Unless, of course, sending perpetually late is all about being a bad-ass renegade. For all joining this swap and complying with the host's request, you will be in violation of the SB rules you agreed to when you signed up. But, hey, we all need some renegades.

JessiPancake 08/19/2010 #

I'm going to join, send one beat up crappy fb, send it a year late, and earn myself a 5! Woohoo!

What a joke.

hollycm6 08/19/2010 #

But.... who decides what "soon after the deadline" is??? Too subjective... And we really can't tell people how to rate. We need to simply follow courteous and appropriate rating guidelines...set in place by admin...

Writing down more names of who not to swap with....

Tinker60 08/19/2010 #

This is crazy!!! Seems to me this swap should be for people who have made mistakes (?) like the hostess who now want to 'get with the program' and send out on time, but this swap seems to reward continued bad behavior. . .which, in turn, harms the rest of the swappers who honestly DO send out on time!

CajunLady 08/19/2010 #

I've seen some pretty dumb swaps, but this one takes the cake.

Poluknalai 08/19/2010 #

Thank you for all your support. It's nice to be called dumb and brainless. The whole point of this is that we are not going to be hysterical if something is mailed a little late. This swap involves things that we need to get moving, and do not have to create or make to a person's profile, so it will be easy to send out. If the receiving partner decides that the other person has flaked, I will angel, as I have a lot of FB's to get moving. It's a way to get FB's moving, and to help folks out who have made mistakes. Some people will give a good rating if the swap was made up and was quality, some people don't. This is closed to 5's because this is a swap for us who have made mistakes, and need a little help, not a place to be berated further by people who have perfect ratings. I am sorry that those of you who have perfect ratings are taking it personally, it was not meant to be personal.

JessiPancake 08/19/2010 #

If September 30th is the ABSOLUTE deadline why not just make it the deadline?

JessiPancake 08/19/2010 #

The best way to help swappers who have made mistakes is to help them learn how NOT to make them in the future by actually following the rules. Like sending on time. And a swap host can't say 3's aren't allowed. That's not up to you.

This swap isn't going to 'help' anyone. It's just going to reinforce poor swapping habits. Perhaps you should work on making up your recent 1 instead of hosting terrible swaps.

Poluknalai 08/19/2010 #

Well, Panykattack, the great thing about this is that you do not have to join a terrible swap. You can stay with swaps that you feel are worthwhile and interesting and people who want to join this one and meet the reqiurements I have given, can join.
Have fun on the swaps you are in!!!! This IS supposed to be fun you know? Oh, and for your comment about my 1, check out Matthew 7: 3-5 for some good advice on being judgemental in situations that really are not your business.

CSNYfan 08/19/2010 #

I have to agree, why not make September 30th the send by date? And no, those of us who don't agree with this don't have to join, but it's also not right to start a swap with questionable guidelines because it gives the community the impression that a swap coordinator and toss universal swapbot rules about rating out the window as long as the coordinator approves it. I think if Rachel is okay with this, the swap would be fine, but Poluknalai, you are asking swappers to disregard parts of the rating system, which in a way makes the rating system not work the way it is supposed to.

CajunLady 08/19/2010 #

tossing out Bible quotes won't make the swap any better.

JessiPancake 08/19/2010 #

Taken from the Terms of Use for this site: You may not take any actions that may undermine the integrity of the rating system.

I'd say telling people they can't rate a 3 falls under that category.

Oh, and telling someone they're judgemental makes you judgemental yourself. :)

Poluknalai 08/19/2010 #

I have addressed the points that I feel are valid per the rating system, it is my hope that this is now within the site's parameters.
Whether this is a stupid swap or not is up to me and the people who are participating. And, I didn't say you were judgemental, I said that was good advice about being judgemental. As a fellow follower of Jesus, I am sure you would agree that it is good advice.
I am not going to address anymore of these comments unless they are sincere to help the swap and delivered in the spirit of helpfulness and not nasty and derisive.

CajunLady 08/19/2010 #

I'm not judgmental..I just speak the truth.

witchfire 08/19/2010 #

No offense. But isn't a swap that is aimed AT swappers who made mistakes be about correcting them? I'm not saying it's a terible idea to host a swap about that. But it seems like you're forcing people to give an automatic 5 and not caring about the same rules that people broke, We, whether we acknowledge it or no, clicked Join this Swap. So we should acknowledge our responsibility. And yes, maybe I can say that because of my rating. But I truly feel responsible for my swaps and would feel terrible if I broke my word and left someone hanging. Sure, life throws things at us all. And some of us might be more forgiving than others. But it's not fair to tell someone else how to rate someone, especially when the rules state that it's ultimately at that person's discretion.

I'm not saying this is a terrible idea - just the execution of the swap seems off. If someone was late, they were late. And they need to own up to it. Learn FROM the mistake. And the swap should reflect that. Good people make mistakes, true. But wise ones learn from them.

Poluknalai 08/19/2010 #

I have changed the swap criteria to reflect the comments that I thought were valid so I am not telling anyone how to rate. Please reread the swap criteria to see the items that have been changed.
I appreciate constructive comments. CajunLady- I was not talking to you. Thank you.

CajunLady 08/20/2010 #

but I was talking to you

hollycm6 08/20/2010 #

I think your swap guidelines are now considerably more effective.

Poluknalai 08/20/2010 #

Thank you, HOlly, I appreciate that feed back. Sincerely. =)

witchfire 08/24/2010 #

I agree with hollycm - this seems much more fair.
