I got this idea from joining swaps that @bjohnston67 arranged for a rescue center. I am sure lots of scrappers out there have materials we just don´t use. In a small town next to mine, a church has set up scrapbookevenings in the community. It is not a particuliary rich area and for a very small fee, you have access to all the materials the church has come up with and you get something to eat. It is a great way to open up the church to people who don´t normally go there and they are excellent in helping out. I thought it would be nice to support them, so if I copy @bjohnston67 idea, this is what you do: You´ll have 1 (one) partner in this swap and instead of sending the items to your partner you send it to the church. Take a picture and email your partner telling what you´ve sent. They have paper, glue and some tools but I thought it would be nice with for example embellishments you don´t use or other things that are unexpensive to send internationally. Flowers, buttons, beads, stickers, eyelets, odd pieces of ribbons - anything and everything you can think of. Just fill a small envelope and send it out. I have been on one of their evenings and the women arranging this are truly good people. I would really like them to know that they are appreciated. Since this is a swap gaining someone else it is open to everyone with a good heart and good ratings - meaning no recent or unexplained 3s and 1s. I´ll give you the address when partners are assigned. This link is in Swedish but you´ll at least know the church I´m referring to. Hope you´ll like this idea! |
