Description:

I WAS DISAPPOINTED TO SEE THIS SWAP CANCELED, SO WITH JANEENGLAND'S PERMISSION, I'M GOING TO FILL-IN FOR HER AS HOST OF THIS SWAP. UNFORTUNATELY, IT DOESN'T LEAVE MUCH TIME TO SIGN UP IN ORDER TO DO THIS FOR SEPTEMBER . . . BUT LET'S SEE IF WE CAN STILL GET IT UP AND RUNNING. THE LAST DAY FOR SIGN-UP WILL BE TOMORROW, BUT THE COMPLETED JOURNAL SHOULD STILL INCLUDE SEPTEMBER 1ST AND 2ND. SO, THAT MEANS YOU SHOULD BEGIN THE JOURNAL TODAY (SEPTEMBER 1st) EVEN THOUGH PARTNERS HAVEN'T BEEN ASSIGNED YET. HERE'S THE SWAP DESCRIPTION BASED UPON THE PREVIOUS SWAP JANEENGLAND HAS HOSTED:

Firstly you will need a journal of any size but no smaller then 5" x 7" and it must have at least 32 pages. On the first page you will tell your partner a bit about yourself, where you live, your interests etc. Then date the rest of the pages from 1st September to 30th September and you will fix an artifix to that page from that day. It may be a bus/train ticket, bus/train timetable, a take out menu you ate at that day or was given that day, a business card such as a harirdresser, a appointment card you had for that day, etc. If the writing is not in English you must translate it so it is. You MUST also write a few sentences about how you got that artifix, what you had that day off the take out menu etc. You are also welcome to draw or take pictures linking to the artifix. IMPORTANT: YOU MUST USE DIFFERENT ITEMS FOR EACH DAY. THERE SHOULDN'T BE 30 OF THE SAME ITEMS!!

Must have a rating of 4.8 or higher. Anyone with a rating lower than 4.8, a history of any no sends, or anyone with a 1 or 3 in the last 3 months will be banned. Also, if you're new to swap-bot (less than 90 days), please contact me before signing up. Any questions please let me know.

hi guys, sorry about cancelling my swap at the last minute, i really enjoyed doing the august edition of this swap, but at the moment i have too many swaps open and i do not want to start missing deadlines, due to been in too many swaps, i hope to be back in the artifix swaps, but not sure when.

what is an artifix?

SueEileen 09/ 1/2010 #

@iggygirl . . . I guess the best way to explain it is that it's a keepsake of an event or a piece of ephemera from a day in your life. In this case, we're collecting these items each day for a month and sharing them with our assigned partner along with describing how we came across the item, why it was meaningful to us for that day, etc. So, as the swap description explains, it could be an appointment card from an appointment you had one day, a menu with a few sentences about what you selected from the menu that day or a receipt for something you purchased on a day with a picture or an description of what you bought. I hope this explanation helps. The swap is a fun and creative way to share some pieces of your life with someone else . . . and to experience some of theirs.

@iggygirl . . . it's me again. :o) I just looked at your profile to try to give you a better example. You mention that you would like to try mint chocolate tea. If you did in fact try it on a day in September, you could attach the outer wrapper from the tea to your journal for that day . . . then write a few sentences about where it came from and if you enjoyed it or not. Hope this helps and that you consider joining the swap.
