A Jane Game: Rhymes with Rose

This swap is based on a "game" that Jane Austen's family played. Each family member was asked to write a poem that "Rhymed with Rose." Jane, her sister Cassandra, her mother Mrs. Austen, and Mrs. Elizabeth Austen each wrote a poem in which all the lines rhymed with rose.

Here is an excerpt of Cassandra Austen's poem:

Love, they say is like a Rose;

I'm sure tis like the wind that blows,

For not a human creature knows

How it comes or where it goes.

It is the cause of many woes,

It swells the eyes & reds the nose,

And very often changes those

Who once were friends to bitter foes.

For this swap, write a poem and send it to 3 partners, typed or handwritten in an envelope. Your poem should be at least 8 lines long. The subject is up to you, but make sure every line rhymes with "rose."
