Description:

As I was telling a friend how finding a postcard among the standard envelopes and flyers of my mail always brings a smile to my lips, I thought how heavenly it would be to find a postcard in my mail EVERYDAY! Well, a postcard-lovin' girl can dream…

So maybe it would be unlikely to find a daily postcard in my mail for the rest of my life, but maybe I could have one every day for a week. If you would like to have a daily dose of postcards, too, come join me in this swap!

This will be an International swap, and you will have 1 partner. For 7 days (not including Sunday), you will commit to mailing a postcard to your partner daily. Please include a note on your postcards, including the swap name, and mail them naked and stamped. In keeping with the spirit of this swap, please make sure your letter carrier receives your postcard DAILY or that you drop it off to your postal clerk DAILY. In other words, if you drop that day's postcard in a postal box AFTER HOURS, it will probably be processed in the following days mail, creating a break in your partner's daily postcard receipts. If a break happens, it happens, but as far as we can control our end of the swap, let's try to have consecutive cancellation dates on our postcards. After all, we're striving for a week of DAILY postcards.

Please have at least a 4.8 rating with at least five (5) Type 2 or Type 3 swaps completed and rated. No ratings of 1 from the previous 12 consecutive months of swapping.

If I've forgotten any details, please feel free to comment or make suggestions.

Last day to sign up will be Tuesday, Sept. 28. I will have assignments made on Sept. 29th. So your 1st postcard will be due to be mailed on Thursday, September 30th, and your last one mailed Thursday, Oct. 7th.

My post office and the minions who work for it are no way able to make this happen as planned! Good luck tho!

KarlaKC 09/17/2010 #

LOL! I truly know what you're saying. While we're aiming to have a postcard in our mailbox each day, I am sure that some will experience a no-postcard day and/or a two-postcard day. But we can hope!

And if concerns about your post office employee's abilities is all that would keep you from playing, please don't let it. We won't be rating our partners by the post offices' performance or lack thereof.

This would be nice but kindof expensive for a week's worth. Don't forget- in Canada we pay $1 to USA and $1.70 overseas. Years ago it was less for postcards than letters but not anymore. Sorry

mizvicky 09/17/2010 #

yeah sorry here as well... to costly for post card swap..good luck

Yes, postage costs keep going up and postcard rates have increased in the past few years here in the USA and obviously in Canada, too. Remember, if you love postcards and are in several international postcard swaps where you are sending to 3 partners in each swap, your postage costs won't be very different in this swap where you have 1 partner for 7 days. If you prefer one or more partners from your region only with whom to swap, then no, this swap is probably not for you as your ONE partner in this swap may reside in one of the many beautiful lands throughout this world outside of your own homeland.

For those of you who do not mind the chance of having a partner outside your own country, I bet you'll have the opportunity to receive some beautiful postcards.

Looking forward to a postcard in my mailbox every day for a week!

I agree about the cost but here's hoping I get an USA!!!Sign me up,I"m thinking positive.

I'd like to have a postcard in my mailbox every day for a week, so I join you !!!

Ikat78 09/27/2010 #

I definately joined. Receiving and sending to another country is one of the wonderful things about Swap-bot. The cost is something I don't mind because Swap-bot is a part of my budget!!

This seems like so much fun! I'm in!

The postcard can take up to a month to arrive in an international destination. There's no way to guarantee when or even if they will all get there. Can someone be rated down for that?

KarlaKC 09/29/2010 #

@shabbypink123 noone should be rated down for delays due to international situations. Every postcard should be postmarked, and swappers can use that mark to tell if their partner mailed on time or two weeks later. Hope this helps.

KarlaKC 09/29/2010 #

The international delays won't be an issue as all swappers in this swap are in the USA. Still, send your postcards out on time! ;-)

KarlaKC 09/30/2010 #

Your first postcard should be out today! Have fun!

KarlaKC 10/ 4/2010 #

Hi, @Camellia I received two postcards today! I knew that would happen. I love the newsy notes you wrote on them. Hope the mailman delivers one tomorrow! :-) Thank you!

Has everyone else received at least one postcard yet? Let us all know how it's coming along.

Ikat78 10/ 7/2010 #

I've received a few myself.

coverstreet 10/ 8/2010 #

I'm receiving mine, but not at the rate of one per day. One the first day, then two unhappy days, then two arrived today. I have heard the same from others. I guess nobody can accuse the USPS of being consistent!

KarlaKC 10/16/2010 #

Yes, I've experienced none then 2 in a day too. We tried! I had fun and hope you all did, too.
