Description:

For this swap, participants will comment in the swap comments section below.

This is the homework part of swapping. You can learn more about dotees by looking in the help section of SB, conducting internet searches or by asking a friend or mentor. Then report back what you've learned.

Ò€’ Participants should describe in their own words, what a dotee is, in the comment section.

Once partners are assigned, partners will rate based on the comments left. Basically, if your partner left a comment describing a dotee, you should rate a five. (I realize itÒ€ℒs not always polite to explain how to rate, but this is a learning group, and comment swaps are a different sort of swap)

Once weÒ€ℒve finished this swap and have a basic understanding of dotees weÒ€ℒll move on to swapping them.

You can comment as soon as you sign up, so the send by date will follow closely on the heels of the sign up date.

Dotees are cute little fabric dolls about the size of your hand. They can be embellished with buttons, beads, charms and much more. They don't have arms or legs but they do have a hanger (ribbon)and a tail (beads usually) The face is drawn or stiched on felt circles (at least in all I have seen)

A dotee is a little doll created by a woman named Dorothy that can be shared to friends and family. It is made from fabric and has a little face on it. They do not have arms or legs, but they do have a tail! One thing I am excited about creating them is that I can use up some of my scraps! yay!

Dottees are a great use of scrap material that you have laying around the house. You will need an open imagination, sewing thread, needles, some fabic (about the size of your hand), stuffing, something to use as hair...like yarn. Something for a tail like a string of beads or ribbons and something for a hanger. Creaters sew on a face..or they can be hand drawn with a marker. You can also embellish it in many ways.

A dottee doll, is just a few inches tall, with a face and a tail, but no arms or legs. They can take on many characters depending on how they are embellished. Use your imagination and the scraps in your craft basket.
