Description:

Well, I hadn't planned on posting another photography project so soon, but I have been playing with some winter photos and achieving some neat effects. So this might be the best time of year to post this swap.

I have taken several winter photos -- morning sun through heavy snow clouds, winter woods with snow on tree branches, full moon through bare branches. These all tend to be low detail/high contrast types of photos. I started playing with altering them and I came up with some cool abstract photos that might make neat ATC blanks.

So here is the swap: Take some winter photographs. Alter them using various colors and textures. Try to get an abstract result. Whether or not you can still see the original subject matter is up to you.

I have Photoshop Elements -- a basic photo program. I have been altering colors and applying texture filters (watercolor, poster edge, plastic wrap, blurs and distortions, etc.) Play around and come up with something fun!

You can see some examples on my Flickr page

Please send at least 4 different backgrounds to your swap partner. They can be different photos or the same photo done four ways. Make sure you send at least 4 ATC sized backgrounds minimum (regular 4x6 photos are fine).

Requirements:

Ò€’ 4 ATC blanks for 1 Partner

Ò€’ Please include a bit of info about what pictures you used and how you altered them.

Ò€’ 4.8+, no unexplained 3s or 1s

Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.

Do we print these on plain paper or adhere them to cardstock? I've not done one this way and need some advice.

I printed mine using matte photo paper. That way I could control exactly what I wanted to fit on the 2.5 x 3.5" area. You could print out standard 4x6" photos and then crop them to size (or leave that for your partner to do). It is not a requirement to mount them onto a stiff backing -- but I'm sure your partner would appreciate them being ready to use when received. Remember, you can further alter these photographs in any way desired. The swap is to send 4 different ATC blanks to one partner.
