Taken with permission from @craftygirl (thanks!) With a few changes... :)

The rules are very easy. Buy a cheap journal, notebook, or composition book and write directions of things to do on all the pages. Then send to your partner and they can follow the directions and literally trash or wreck the journal! For inspiration and further description on this, check out the original "Wreck this Journal" website: http://www.wreckthisjournal.com

A few examples from the book are: Cover this page using only office supplies, draw with glue, This page is a sign. What do you want it to say?, write backwards, poke holes in this page...

The whole idea is to make a journal book for your partner with instructions on each page. In the process, they will "wreck this journal" by following your instructions and not feel guilty for doing so!

Don't spend much on a book or journal, since the end result is to trash it, but make it around 50-75 pages at least please. Because of the kind of journal book swap that it is, there is no need to decorate it much. After all, you may be instructed to drive over it!

One swapper. Newbies welcome but will check your profile so be sure to have a good write up (meaning, fill in all sections!). Minimum of 4.90 for experienced swappers. No unexplained 1 or 3 rating. If you have any questions contact me before joining. I reserve the right to ban anyone I feel would flake or make this a bad swap experience.

I will not be able to Angel this swap, so NO FLAKERS!! If you flake, you will be reported after given an appropriate rating.

Does swap partner keep book or send it back?

thisismeAXiD 02/19/2011 #

They keep it and fill it in. :)

thisismeAXiD 02/19/2011 #

Oh, and go ahead and start getting your journal ready! There's lots of time to come up with stuff!! *Mer

pengrafyx 02/20/2011 #

Can I make a journal? i.e. design 50-75 separate pages, then coil bind it into a journal?

thisismeAXiD 02/20/2011 #

@pengrafyx as long as it can withstand the torture/wrecking it will endure and be of good quality, then that will be fine. I just suggested buying one for durability

Jacquisking 02/20/2011 #

i have this book/journal lol i love it but havent done much of it yet. have fun guys!

thisismeAXiD 02/21/2011 #

I got my journal for 60 cents from Officemax today! I'm going to start filling it out now :)

LauraAust 02/25/2011 #

I have a suggestion - you said that the journal should be around 50 to 75 pages. I bought a composition notebook at Wal-Mart that is 100 sheets. My suggestion is that if someone buys a notebook with MORE THAN 50 to 75 pages that they go ahead and put in instructions/prompts on the 50 to 75 pages but then DO NOT tear out the rest of pages, but leave them for your partner in case they want to do more pages on their own. Does that make sense?

thisismeAXiD 02/26/2011 #

yea...that sounds good @LauraAust ...good suggestion :)

NikonGoddess 03/ 9/2011 #

I'm watching only until I finish some swaps...then I'm in this one for sure. What FUN!!!!!!!!!!

Reallusionista 03/ 9/2011 #

cinderella730 03/10/2011 #

i've wanted to get this journal for a while now... but this way is much more fun!!! my kids want to make their own journals to wreck now!!! :o)

thisismeAXiD 03/10/2011 #

YAY!! This is my first swap in the top 10 swaps on SB!! Let's add more people!!

iswallow 03/10/2011 #

so, you need to take 50-75 pages notebook and stick/cut/paint in it as much as you like/want/have ideas? sounds like a fun! I`m in :)

Deeno1105 03/10/2011 #

Does the person who wrecks the journal send it back to the person who sent it to them so they can see it wrecked? If not, how do you rate your partner?

PAStryloVER 03/10/2011 #

is there an actual size limit? or it just has to have 50-75 pages

thisismeAXiD 03/10/2011 #

@Deeno1105 you keep the one you are sent :)

@PAStryloVER any size you want with 50-75 pages big enough to wreck :)

iamred 03/11/2011 #

i really want to do this swap, but im moving in the middle of april. =( i can definately get my journal sent to my partner before then, but im wondering if my partner could get theirs sent to me by then if i joined?

Cyndimom 03/11/2011 #

Would you be willing to host a kid or teen one of these?

thisismeAXiD 03/11/2011 #

@iamred unfortunately there is no way of knowing if this is possible.

@Cyndimom I would never to a kid/teen one as I have no interest in either, but please feel free to host your own :)

cinderella730 03/11/2011 #

i'm so excited for this swap.......... as a matter of fact, I bought enough notebooks for my kids to make their own... and we have spent the afternoon doing this........ sooooooooo my journal for my partner is done. now it just stinks having to wait until I get my partners info to send it out. lol :o) WE HAD A BLAST MAKING THEM!!!!! can't wait to actually do them!!

PAStryloVER 03/12/2011 #

hopefully when you check the profiles you will be checking the last date they logged in as well :) THANKS for making this swap i hope i dont get flaked on because im really excited about this swap.

ericabella 03/12/2011 #

What a GREAT idea! I love all of Keri Smith's books, but I actually do not have her Wreck this Journal journal. Have fun, everyone!

institches 03/12/2011 #

can we send a mini composition book or does it have to be journal size or larger?

thisismeAXiD 03/12/2011 #

@PAStryloVER of course, I always do!

@ericabella thank you!

@institches please make it at least journal size, a mini books i think would be way too small to have fun with :)

LINDA50 03/13/2011 #

What is journal size?

institches 03/13/2011 #

I was thinking a mini one would be an extra challenge. (grin)

thisismeAXiD 03/13/2011 #

@LINDA50 like 9x7 inches(ish)...that's about the size of a composition book

@institches and @LINDA50 this will give people plenty of area to wreck :)

nasreen 03/13/2011 #

I really want to join but does each page need to be filled? Do we have to leave 50-75 instructions in total? Do we need to leave illustrations as well?

thisismeAXiD 03/13/2011 #

@nasreen you need to leave 50-75 instructions...there is no need for illustrations...your partner will be doing all the instructions...you just need to tell them what to do.

thisismeAXiD 03/13/2011 #

Sign-up is closing soon! Please join :)

Leashah 03/13/2011 #

This should be a Type 3 swap.

thisismeAXiD 03/14/2011 #

@Leashah thank you I was considering that. I have changed it :)

pengrafyx 03/14/2011 #

I just bought her "Wreck This Box" set - all three books shrink-wrapped in plastic. I promise NOT to open them till I finish inventing my own pages for this swap ~ I am almost done ~ just 10 more exercises to invent! Inventing the exercises is so much fun, I may make a copy of my own book for me to wreck. Great swap idea!

thisismeAXiD 03/14/2011 #

@pengrafyx I almost bought her box set, but the temptation to copy would have been astronomical! I'll prbly buy it after I get my WTJ finished from this swap :) (and thank you)

tex82 03/30/2011 #

Mine is ready to go. Tomorrow I'll send

ruthyruth 03/30/2011 #

oops. i have already bought made and sent the journal for my partner but it is not 9x7 inches. sorry. should i send another?

thisismeAXiD 04/ 1/2011 #

@ruthyruth it depends...you'll have to ask your partner about that.

memtree 04/ 8/2011 #

wow! how fun! hope you do this swap again :)

NikonGoddess 04/12/2011 #

I'm echoing Memtree's comment! I'd love to join in the next one.

KentuckyGal 04/20/2011 #

I watched "Twister" the other night...wonderful inspiration for destructive activities. :p Went from about 10 to 50 pages during the course of the movie! lol
