Just curious--what are memo sheets???? Are they just sheets of paper from a memo pad???

stephiedee 02/27/2011 #

Memo sheets = stationery sheets. Decorated sheets of paper for writing letters/notes on. Run a search on Etsy for memo sheets and you'll get the idea :D

lulu702 03/ 9/2011 #

I thought I read that everyone was in the USA in this swap?

Lorivintage55 03/14/2011 #

@lulu702 I just found out that the person I am suppose to send to is in Canada. I have addressed this issue to the hostess and also to the person I am suppose to send to. The hostess hasn't read my message but the person I'm suppose to send to has read it but didn't respond. I'm taking it that she is probably your partner who is suppose to send to you and now she's opting out of sending to you because she just realized it's a USA swap. This swap was made for regional - usa...doesn't say USA and Canada. The hostess needs to check profiles next time :(

Lorivintage55 03/14/2011 #

And people who join need to read where the swap is as well!!

craftyfairy 03/14/2011 #

please dont make assumptions, i will, of course, still send to my partner. (who isnt lulu, so apparently this is a more-common-than-me issue). mistakes happen, on all counts, i am just sorry that you have felt it necessary to be so accusatory to both myself and the host. i found your email quite hurtful. and that is why i didnt respond, not because i am flaking. i would never, ever flake, despite issues that may arise.

Lorivintage55 03/14/2011 #

@craftyfairy no where did I say you were the only person that made mistakes. I don't know what I accused you of? It wasn't like I said you joined on purpose. And being that I didn't hear from you and then saw Lulu's comment, I thought maybe you contacted her, so yes, I assumed there and I apologize for that. I apologize if my message was hurtful, I was just frustrated and worried that you'd ruin my good rating. I was going to contact you and I still will.

The partner I got it also in Canada. I joined this swap because it was for USA only. Love Canadians and it's nothing personal, but I don't have the extra $$ to send outside the US and getting a customs form at our post office is a nightmare. Last two times I was there, there were 25-30 people in line. Not sure why the host didn't check profiles??

lulu702 03/14/2011 #

So sorry for all the confusion from my question! I am new to swap bot and didn't want to cause any trouble. The reason I asked the question is because the person I have to send to is in Australia. My husband has been out of a job for two years, so I am trying to keep my postage down as low as possible by only doing USA swaps(except for a few postcards) I was just suprised when I saw that my partner was in Australia. I have sent my package off today and received my package Sat from ladyaries7.

Ryleighsmom 03/14/2011 #

This swap host has caused some serious issues for many in this swap!

Ryleighsmom 03/15/2011 #

lulu702, everyone in this swap was supposed to be from the USA, according to the host's requirements. You didn't do anything wrong!

racheljohnson 03/15/2011 #

I am sorry for the confusion. Swap coordinators are in charge of removing participants who do not meet their region requirements. We are working to make the region restrictions for swaps automatic, which will prevent this problem in the future.

For now, I will remove any low ratings given for this swap. That means that you do not need to send to your international partner. However, you can still get high ratings for this swap and sending to your partner, even if they are international, would be awesome! (You will need to contact me about this swap if you receive a low rating.) I am very sorry that this will mean some users will not receive this swap.

Let me know if you have any questions,

Everyone in this swap was supposed to be from the USA, according to the host's requirements, It does say in the location USA. SO if you signed up and your from another area...That isn't the fault of the hostess. How can she go through over 60 people. It is up to the people who join to watch what they are joining. Maybe swap-bot can do something to make the program catch any of these issues. I did received from my international partner and she did very nice.
I wouldn't flake on a swap just because there was a small problem. I'd just be more careful reading the swap next time. If there needs swap angels for this, I would be happy to send one. Patti

DosLittleMonkeys 03/21/2011 #

Patti, Rachel (the Admin and owner of this site) addressed the issue right above you. It is the host's responsibility to remove participants who do not meet the requirements for now. If the host can't review 60 people before assigning partners, then maybe she should not be a host.

jade517 03/22/2011 #

ryleighsmom and Lorivintage55--this is my first time hosting a swap and since I was not aware that i had review all the profiles, I went thru and made suer that they were all rated high enough to join the swap. I am sorry...I fgiured that all who joined would have read the directions in that it was USA only, therefore NOW I know and the next swap I host this is something that I will look at. I appreciate those of you who DID Not bash me...everyones first time to host a swap is a trial. I also offered three people that were assigned outside of usa to send the swap for them, only one took me up on the offer. I am disappointed in the negativitity that I have rec'd about this swap...very sorry for letting so many people donw....HAVE YOU EVER MADE A MISTAKE AND LEARNED FROM IT????????

Ryleighsmom 03/23/2011 #

pattiairel, of course a host can go through over 60 profiles. I've seen hosts go through over 200 before. And it IS very frustrating when you state a region for a swap and people outside that region sign up. But, it is the responsibility of the host to remove those swappers.

jade517 has let us know it was her first time hosting a swap, so let's cut her some slack and move on. :)

Lorivintage55 03/23/2011 #

@Jade517 I don't feel by saying "The hostess should check profiles" with a :( face after it is bashing you. I just stated that you should have....did I say you were wrong and dumb or whatever? That would have been bashing you. Ok, it was your first time and after several days you did contact me and offer to help and I appreciated that...but please don't go saying that I bashed you here in any way. That comment was left way before you contacted me. I'm glad an administrator came in and gave appropriate feedback for this issue.
