Bluework #5

03/10/11 thru 04/15/11

--Bluework embroidery on a 5รขโ‚ฌย square

-one blue color per block

Simple outline or line drawing images are best, (as in a coloring book) and you can do them in just a stem stitch, or combination of stitches, or cross-stitch, as long as you only use one color of blue in each block.

The square is to be a 5" square of good quality 100% cotton fabric in white or pale cream, and the image should only fill a 4 x 4 area in the center leaving a blank border area of approximately one inch. Wash your fabric before embroidering, press it after and keep the stitches neat. Package it in a zip-loc or similar baggie, slipped between two pieces of cardboard, chipboard, etc to keep it protected. Tape your envelope wellรขโ‚ฌโ€donรขโ‚ฌโ„ขt let the post office machinery ruin your efforts.
