Description:

This swap is for twelve 9 patch quilt blocks. You will swap with only one partner. This is a great way to add that scrappy look to your small quilts. Each 9 patch consists of a dark and light fabric as shown in the photo. It is one of the simplest blocks to piece, but care should be taken to match the seams when piecing your rows together.

The blocks you will piece each measure 3.5" when you are finished piecing them and put them in the envelope to send to your swap partner. The light and dark fabric pieces should be cut 1.5". It is extremely important to measure these pieces correctly when cutting or the blocks will not be the correct size. Please use a 1/4" seam when piecing the blocks. Fabrics must be 100% cotton and should be pre-washed. Please use better quality fabrics for this swap.

I will provide directions on my blog for using 12 blocks to make a 17"x21" doll quilt,or use your blocks any way you'd like.

All swappers will be considered, but I highly recommend previous sewing experience.

Please list your color likes and dislikes in the discussion. You will not be swapped with if this information is not completed.

I love reproduction fabric.....30's and civil war. Send an assortment of fabrics if you can. If you have never quilted before, please get some help. Bad blocks made with bad fabric are no fun.

Happy Quilting!!!

Hi! I'm from Brazil, is it ok? I love bright colors and on my blog ( http://www.alemdecriar.blogspot.com/ ) I've posted some photos about color combinations that I like ( part of a crazy quilt class I´m doing). I just don't like grays and I'm not a pastel person. I'm new to swap-bot and I'd love to be part of your swap. Thank you!

I like 30's reproduction fabrics with white on white fabrics.
I also like civil war reproduction fabrics.
Another color combo would be anything red (solid, prints, florals) with white on white fabrics.
Also I like muslin, red and blue fabrics together for an Americana look. Ok so I hope this helps with the variety of color combos.

I am flexible with my color preference. I like a scrappy look, so if you wanted to make the dark squares with a variety of fabrics, that would work okay.

If you prefer a specific color layout....reds with either white or white on white would be wonderful

I've done swaps online before, but not here at swap bot

Thanks!

The scrappier the better. I like tans, browns, blues, greens, darker purples and reds. No whites, pastels or batiks. I like civil war reproduction fabrics.

Let me know if you need any help with any part of this swap, including ideas on how to earn a heart for your package.
