About Me

Hey, and welcome to my little swappers profile.

I am a twenty-something female. Consider myself to be quite down to earth. Love meeting new people, seeing new faces, trying new things (especially crafts) and making my mark in the world (or trying anyway!).

I am the officer of two awesome Swap Bot groups called "Paper Passions" and "Handmade Postcard Club." I aim to host at least two swaps per month in each group. I love hosting swaps and if you have a swap idea you'd like to see for either group, please don't hesitate to message me!

I am a huge bookworm. I read everything from True Confession magazines to chick lit to true crime. I'm so busy, and for me, reading and crafting are my two guilty pleasures!

I enjoy studying, specifically the arts, literature, and creative psychology. I try to live a creatively authentic life, making and trading things to collect helps along the way!

I have a four year old special needs daughter, she suffers from Aspergers syndrome, other characteristics of the autism spectrum, and ADHD. Sometimes we hit rough patches, but we're working on things everyday. She loves to do rubber stamping and color pencil art with me.

I am a part time graduate student, am returning to school for a Masters in Literature. I'm passionate about words and like to incorporate them into my art pieces when I can.

I enjoy writing from time to time. I support the gay community/lifestyle, and other alternative lifestyles, as I believe in the freedom of expression and experience.

For fun I frequent libraries, museums, poetry readings, art galleries, flea markets, the theatre.

I consider myself a spiritual person, though I'm not a fanatic in any idealistic concept of religion. I enjoy reading runes and tarot cards and I do pray to a higher power.

I believe in karma, and I also like angeling from time to time, so if you like how I make ATC's and you need an angel, message me. :)

Favorite Music

I enjoy music from various genres. Folk, some pop, alternative, rock, soft rock and every now and then something inspirational or if I am meditating, something instrumental and relaxing.

Some of my favorite bands are actually from 60's-70's era. I also am very fond of Coldplay, Everclear, Lifehouse, Dishwalla, Natalie Imbruglia, Sarah McLachlan, Jewel, Ani DiFranco, Tori Amos, A Fine Frenzy, Colbie Callait....and so, so many more.

Favorite Books

I suppose I am somewhat a feminist in my reading preferences.

I enjoy: Sylvia Plath, Rona Jaffe, Anne Sexton, V.C. Andrews, Alice Sebold, Sharon Sala, and generally just really enjoy chick lit books, especially the ones from Red Dress Ink.

I also often indulge in classic short stories and poetry.

Love magazines, self help books, psychology books, art and craft books...quotes, and just about anything in between.

Favorite Movies

My interests in movies is quite diverse. I like so many that it's pretty much impossible to name just a few. But I am particularly attracted to the concepts and the dynamics of relationships in the movie "The Good Girl." I suppose I like chick flicks, but I like to keep them on the literary side.

Favorite Television

Golden Girls, Gilmore Girls, Cold Case Files, The First 48, Snapped, I Shouldn't be Alive, America's Next Top Model, and various other shows found on Oxygen and Lifetime.

I honestly like to live by this saying, "Turn the TV off and turn life on."

:)

Favorite Crafts

My expertise (if you could call it that) is in creating ATC's. I absolutely love the challenge of fitting a piece of artwork onto such a small surface.

I sometimes try my hand at sketching and color pencil art, and the occasional larger piece of collage art as well as greeting cards.

I do 3x3 cards, post cards, skinnies, row houses, rubber and acrylic stamping art, and am planning to begin experimenting with matchboxes and other collaging in boxes.

Favorite Things / Wish List

If you send me something, and you care to make it to my preference (though I'm sure I'll love whatever fellow swappers make for me), or if you are sending me extras or gifts, below are a few things I really love!

*The colors light pink and lilac.

Swapper's Oath and Rating

Though I am new to swapping, I do promise to always send out my swaps on time. If for some reason I should get behind I will definitely give you a heads up first.

And please, if I send you something and you do not recieve it, let me know before you give me a bad rating.

As for rating. I promise to rate you within a week of receiving your swap. I have a LOT on my plate, and also sign up for a high number of swaps.

And please, when I make and send your card on time and as correctly specified by the swap requirements, please be kind enough to rate me in return. I won't whine if you don't rate as soon as you grab my swap out of your box, but within a week would be nice. :)

IF YOUR SWAP IS LATE AND THERE HAS BEEN NO COMMUNICATION FROM YOU, I WILL AUTOMATICALLY RATE A 3. However, if you email me and let me know before the send date that you're running a little behind, I will not rate down.

I feel this is fair and reasonable. If ever I am late, I am thoughtful enough to let my partners know I either didn't make post the day before, or that I'm running behind.

I do not like rating 3's but I will in the event your swap was not sent on time and I never received an explanation. ALL I ask is for open communication and honesty.

Comment: Received a picture on very thin cardstock :( Not hardly what I would call a Artist Trading Card. No effort whatsoever! I will not be swapping with you in the future. I have several digital atc's in my collection. None are like this one. Thank you for finally sending.
Response: This card was printed on the sturdiest card stock that I could find at my local crafting store. And for your information, this was a digital ATC that took a LOT of time and effort to manipulate in photoshop. As for who you swap with, that's your choice.
