When it rains, it pours!
I just wanted to let everyone know that I am alive and somewhat kicking. I got a bad case of strep throat and some other creepy-crud which has kept me out of it for the last few weeks. I am behind on sending some of my swaps and going through my mail to get caught up on ratings. I will be in contact with each partner/swap coordinator and will complete all swaps.
I want to publicly apologize for this. I was actually doing quite well when things went haywire. With my daughter starting Kindergarten, working full-time and a hubby working on a PhD, getting sick knocked down the whole house of cards.
Let me just take this time to remind new folks that it is soooo easy to want to sign up for every terrific swap on hereΓ’β¬Β¦watch your scheduling so you donΓ’β¬β’t have swaps due all at the same time, plan that something will happen that will interfere with your time, and know your limits.
Thanks! Connie
I am a happily married 44 year young mom of a 24 year old stepson and a five year old princess. I work full-time for a state education commission and enjoy what I do. I am active in my church and like meeting new people and making friends.
Good News - I just found out that my stepson and his wife are expecting twins in March!
I enjoy scrapbooking, cardmaking, most papercrafting, photography, sewing and other needlework, writing, collecting and using fountain pens, calligraphy (just beginning to learn), and other creative outlets. I am discovering more on this site - like I need mmore crafting things to do! I also like to play adventure games that are not violent or gory. I am a writer and hope to be published someday - I like to write mystery, romance, devotionals, Christian fiction. I love penpals - snail mail or email. I also love cooking!
I enjoy action/adventure (no extreme gore or violence), mysteries, romance, and sci-fi. Some chic flicks are OK, but I do not like Nicholas Sparks-type anything. I love happy endings! As for music, I like most anything except rap, honky-tonk country, and acid rock. I enjoy instrumentals as I listen to them when writing. Some of my favorites include Jim Brickman, Enya, and classicial piano. My iPod also has Billy Joel, Garth Brooks, Rascal Flatts, Grease Soundtrack, Styx Paradise Theatre - just to name a few.
I am not picky. I do not mind used items as long as they are in good condition. A guide would be to ask yourself if it is something you would like to receive. Some examples would usable fabric scraps and other sewing items, scrapbooking and other papercraft items, handmade items to used as is, or things that you would let me use in my creations, stationery, handmade cards and postcards for me to send to others, Stamps (non-collector stamps, ones I can use for crafts), any old jewelry (costume/broken items) for me to use in jewelrymaking, craft books, cookbooks, recipes, kitchen gadgets, blank and lined journals, and anything else you think I might like.
Craft Books, Cook Books, Recipes, Devotionals and Bible Studies, Heart-shaped boxes, Vintage and Modern Fountain Pens/Inks, Vintage sewing supplies, Vintage office supplies, Old postcards.
I love food - OK and it loves me way too much :) I enjoy chocolate, Skittles, pretzels...I am sure there is more, but I can't think of anything I especially like at the moment. I don't like banana or coconut anything.
In swaps and such it does not seem right to say what you don't want or like...but I don't like to waste. I figure if I do get something I cannot use, that I would pass it along to someone else who would (RAK and all that).
Things that I prefer not to receive:
Anything with the skulls and bones motif, coffee (that's only because my hubby is a coffee snob and grinds the beans himself), chai tea - any other tea is OK, coconut or banana (food or scented), Kawaii - themed items, Hello Kitty, Anime, bloody/scary/evil items
She loves crafting (she calls them "projects") as much as I do. In fact I received a nicely stuffed goody envelope, she promptly confiscated an ATC she liked and most of the other things that came with it. :)
Some of her favorites things:
Disney Princesses - especially Ariel (The Little Mermaid)
Kai-Lan
Olivia, Watercolors, Crayons, Markers, Strawberry Shortcake, Alvin and the Chipmunks (and the Chipettes), Pink, Hearts, Beads, Lace, Glitter Glue, Kid-themed pens (she does like fountain pens also), Skittles, Hershey Kisses
I always send my swaps, so if you have not received anything from me, please let me know. Mail issues can be a pain, so I will gladly resend.
I rate when I receive. If you have not received a rating from me, then I might not have received your item.
Also - life happens! If you have a question or run behind, let me know.

hi! awhile ago you participated in one or more alphabet recipe postcard swaps. I have been given permission to restart them. I am starting with "I" but I will also run, soon, a few catch-up swaps for missed letters. If you are interested, the swap is here: http://www.swap-bot.com/swap/show/87122. I hope you'll join!
Hope everything is ok and you, and from your blog, I can see it is. Pity you forgot about us here at Swap-Bot. Have a great day..
Hi Connie, I sent you a special parcel. It wasn't a swap. It was a thank you because you said you made another set of Affirmation cards to replace those lost in the post. Did you receive it? You haven't replied to my PM. I was worried. Now I'm disappointed.
Thanks for being an officer & hosting some swaps! Feel free to make swaps when you're feeling up to it!
Take care,
Jess
