Hi! Here's a few quick facts about me:
I'm an Aussie. I live in Tasmania which is a stunning part of the world!
I'm single parent of two teenage girls. I do have a fantastic boyfriend too!
I'm a fulltime student (I quit my job a few months ago to concentrate on finishing my degree)
I am owned by two cats (Sei and Fergus) and two dogs (Bailey - a bearded collie and Manuel - a shihtzu). Fergus is actually a girl, but we didn't find out til we'd had her a long time so she has a boys name. She's okay with that though.
I try to keep life pretty simple these days - just to keep room for my studies. (Don't want to run out of space for all that new knowledge!)
I'm finishing up a business degree, although I still haven't quite figured out what I'll do with it! I'll finish next year, so I guess I'd better decide soon?!
I've just started to learn to rockclimb. Love the adrenalin rush when you get to the top and can finally abseil back down!
I joined this site cos it sounds like fun!
Colours: purple, black, maroon, burghundy, cream
Clothes: jeans and a jumper
Shoes: I have a bit of a boot 'habit'!
Foods: yum cha (dim sum), indian, mexican, italian... Turkish delight and those sour lollies that make your face do weird things...
Decorating styles: shabby chic (love it, I can buy old stuff, paint it and voila! it matches!)
Season: winter - I love the snow!
Smells: fresh flowers and fresh coffee
*Things that I don't like at all and make me shiver:
Spiders and cockroaches
Black jelly beans
Smelly feet
Fish smells
I love classical for when I'm studying, but when I'm not then I'll listen to just about everything!
My boyfriend doesn't appreciate my love for 70's and 80's stuff so I have to hide that from him. lol.
One of my daughters listens to death metal and I've gotta tell you.... 'yuck'.. That's probably the only type I really won't listen to. It makes my ears want to jump off!
I read all day for uni so it's nice to read something other than school stuff.
At the moment I'm reading Hunter S Thompsons Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas.
I'm also reading Scott Cunninghams Encyclopedia of Magical Herbs I try to keep a couple of books on the run - one for fun and the other one for growth. :-)
The Green Mile (saw it at the cinema 5 times and cried every time!)
Shawshank Redemption - how clever he was, and how patient!!!
Nell - for the innocence of the movie
Gorillas In The Mist - for the injustice of it, I cried and cried.
Leadlighting - love this with a passion, hope to find the time to replace all the windows in my house with leadlight ones.. I wonder where I can get an extra day in the week to do that?
Drawing - I used to draw portraits and sell them, the selling was a bonus. Drawing is like meditating.. very calming and time flies!
I desperately want to learn scrapbooking
Painting - I'd love to say I mastered this but I didn't. I have some quite okay pictures I painted and I threw the rest out. (Got rid of the evidence)lol
Letter writing - I love writing letters, you'd be amazed at how much you can write when you sit down with a pen and paper.
Renovating furniture - I have some pieces of furniture that have been given a second lease on life. They're gorgeous. (Now, but before, yikes!)
Painting the house - I love it! Instant gratification. Well, except for the preparation you have to do first, but after that...
That's pretty much the short run on me. :-) Have a great day!
