I'm a silver aged (mid 60s) wife/mother/grandmother, and I live in central Florida. I'm a 7th generation Floridian, and have been married for 50 years.
I'm retired, (my husband is also) so to keep my sanity, I'm learning new hobbies. I am always looking for something new to keep myself busy (and to avoid as much housework as possible, lol).
I enjoy being outside amongst my live oak trees, watching the squirrels chase each other & working in the yard.
My favorite color is yellow first, then rainbow & sunset colors.
I have several favorite animals: cats (primarily, because I have the personality of a cat), horses, various birds (such as the titmouse, cardinals & house wrens), dragonflies & butterflies.
I'm highly into metaphysical matters (eg: spiritual enlightenment, paranormal investigations, esp, etc). And, yes, I believe in faeries, dragons, angels & ETs..
I've worked in the medical field for 20 years. Also worked retail, hospitality, customer service, and even several years as a Renaisance Fair serving wench (mmm, I really miss the pirates).
I love reading historical romance novels, mainly time-travel & highlanders. Hannah Howell & Christine Feehan are two of my favorite authors. I love reading at bedtime, especially after a rough day. That's one of my favorite ways to escape reality.
I enjoy listening to various kinds of music: celtic, esoteric, 60s/70s/80s rock, motown, and anything by Alabama.
Some of my favorite movies are Everafter, Divine Secrets of the Yaya Sisterhood, Avatar, Pearl Harbor, Titanic, Happyfeet, Out On A Limb, Harry Potter, LOTR. In SciFi flixs: Star Wars (episodes 4,5 & 6), Lord of the Rings, Star Trek (the newer movies) and 2012. At times, I like a good disaster flick, such as Deep Impact, Day After Tomorrow, Independence Day, Dante's Peak, etc.
I love crafts that intrigue me, such as hypertufa (cement) planters, dirty pour acrylic painting, paper-crafting, sculpting with cement or plaster of paris, and other DIY projects. I'm finding steampunk projects and making faux postage stamps fascinating.
Unless there's a nature picture on TV, I perfer watching a tutorial on YouTube. I'm always looking to learn something new.
I also highly enjoy driving & roadtrips. Nascar was the only sport I'd watch, but not so much anymore. I was heavily into the #3 Intimidator, Dale Earnhardt Sr. (RIP).
I've been called a "granny gamer" because I love to play World of Warcraft (Alliance only). Runes of Magic and Dungeon Keeper are a close second & third.
My favorite food is Cantonese.
The teas I like: Chia, Earl Grey, Red Zinger, Orange Pekoe. (I have an ALLERGY to Chamomile).
My fave likes are: cats, dragons, faeries, Pegasus & dragonflies. Also the color yellow.
I also like: sunset colors, horses, parrots, sugar skulls, steampunk (gears & clockworks), shiny stickers (no "kiddie stuff"), altered paperclips, hanging shiny things, dangle beads, playing/oracle/tarot cards, washi samples, most anything eclectic or unusual.
I dislike propaganda. Please do not send anything religious, political, or sports.
I don't care for quilting, heavy sewing projects or yarn work. But give me a fat quarter or some yarn scraps & I'll make something funky out of it. I'm just crazy that way. :)
Not fond of the color purple (or shades of).
For tea swaps, PLEASE do not send Chamomile. I'm allergic to it. Thank you.
If you're one of those wonderful people who make their own envelopes, don't be surprised if you get one of yours back with another swap. I believe in recycling. Unless it's one of those gems that I can't part with. I get very protective of my treasures (must be the dragon in me, lol). And if you don't see me in an international swap, it's not because I'm being picky. I'm on a limited budget, so I have to watch my postage. Sometimes I find a wonderful swap, sign up, then realize it's not regional, so I have to drop out. You may notice that my stuff is not high quality. Having to do on the cheap doesn't allow for all the pretty & nifty equipment. So, I do what I can, until I get myself stocked up (bit by bit).
10-30-2019: I rate within a couple days of receiving my wonderful happy mail. But for some reason, the rating doesn't always go through. Not sure if maybe SwapBot's matrix doesn't recognize my OS(Linux) or the "send" button isn't sensitive enough to register my "click", even though all the text that I typed is still on the "rating" page. Once I get the reminder to rate, I go back & reclick the button, then it goes through. So please be patient, the rating will eventually come. TY
