I love to knit, crochet, sew, quilt, cross stitch, and do embroidery. I have done some scrapbooking and would like to get more invovled in it.
I am always interested in having new threads for stitching. DMC, wool, silk ribbon, etc. I am happy with all colors.
There are many other types of handwork that I am intersted in, just haven't found the time! I would love to try Blackwork and would enjoy having a pattern and instructions for it.
I like most types of yarn, but not really that crazy about many of the Red Heart super savers. I am trying to get involved with different types of yarn: wool, silk, etc
I am always in the mood for new patterns. I even like vintage dress patterns. I use them to decorate my craft/sewing room. If you make something for me, I would appreciate it if you could send the pattern also. I may want to make one for someone else!
I don't really listen to music that much. I used to be into Disco when I was young! I enjoy hearing some of the oldies from the 70's and 80's. I enjoy classical sometimes. I really like Christmas music. Sometimes I like Country and pop.
I love books on CD. Pretty much would be willing to listen to any author.
I like most movies other than scary ones. I enjoy a movie that keeps me guess or that makes me cry. I still enjoy watching kids movies even though my daughter is almost 20. Just went to see Toy Story and Dispicable Me and loved them!
I am in my early 50's and have been a stay at home Mom for 12 years. I homeschooled my daughter until she went to college 1 year ago. I love being at home and taking care of my family and home.
In my previous life I was a Massage Therapist and prior to that a secretary. My partner and I move every 2 -3 years, so making friends on the internet is fun for me. I know that I can keep in touch with them!
I don't really watch too much television. I do enjoy Law and Order - SVU, The Good Wife and Greys Anatomy. Other than that, I can live without it. Oh yeah, I do enjoy watching the knitting, quilting and sewing shows on PBS.
I have many things that I collect. I love most anything that comes from the Victorian era. (Although I am not too into super frilly things).
Here are a few things I collect:
Teapots Cups/Saucers Creamers Sugar bowl Old silver spoons Old glass ware Salt dishes Butter dishes Salt shakers (Old ones) Doilies Chicken items Toothpick holders Egg Cups Sewing goodies (Old and new) Knitting goodies (Old and new) Crochet goodies (Old and new)
I know there is more, I will update when I think of it.
I think that there are very few things I don't like. I have always felt that I should try something new, so if you send me something I have never tried, I will try it and decide then.
I don't like rude people. I don't think it is too hard to put a smile on your face - perhaps it will pass on.
I don't like hunting, fishing, and most outdoors type things.
I am sure there is more, can't think of it now.

Hi there! I stumbled across your profile as part of the Read my Profile and Leave a Nice Comment swap.
I like kids' movies too; in fact, my husband & I saw Toy Story 3D on opening night! Grey's Anatomy is a favorite show of mine as well. I was really impressed with last season's finale. I'm glad they finally got rid of Izzy for good too, lol. Can't wait for the new season to start up.
Thanks for joining the tea swap! I can't wait for winter, so we can enjoy tea and cocoa without turning down the air conditioner. LOL. Hope you have fun!
Thanks for stopping to read my profile page:) and the nice comments:) we are thinking about switching to unschooling next year and if you have any tips or suggestions I would love to hear them! thanks!
Some nice wine and bacon... The perfect meal ;)
I have seen a lot of things with bacon on them, but not those pencils! I have to say that if I ever do see them, I'll probably buy them in an instant... Haha, is that lame?
Helly Cynthia,
I love how you barely added any dislikes to your profile. One of the reasons I signed up on Swap-Bot is because I love trying new things as well. That's why life is so great, you get to do all kind of different stuff and decide then if you like it or not.
Also, I think one is never too old to enjoy kids movies. Whenever I go to see one, there are more adults than children in the cinema - and most of them don't accompany any kids. I haven't seen Toy Story yet, but I've heard several people saying it's funny, so if I have the time, I might go there. I've never heard of Despicable Me, though, but that's because it won't come out in Germany until the end of September. We're a little bit late here...
I hope you have a great Sunday evening!

Hello Cynthia! All of those housewares that you collect sound so interesting, especially the old ones. Every time I walk by an antique shop window I hope to see some beautiful or unique salt shaker set or teacup. I'm also a tea junkie, so teapots and cups hold that much more interest for me!
I also think it's great that you sew, crochet, knit, and all of that other fun stuff! Homemade things are so much better than store bought and I have a huge amount of respect for people who can do it all. I recently started to attempt knitting... I haven't even made it to a decent potholder yet. Ha! All in good time, I guess!
Enjoy the rest of your weekend, Dax [Read my Profile and Leave a Nice Comment]
That "shat's" is supposed to be "What's", a typo in my excitment.
