I am a student of Social Science in Germany. I love being a student but while my mind gets a great work-out my fingers start itching. At the end of the day I need to Do or Create something. Swapping gives me a challenge to create for others and is a chance to get wonderful exciting mail !!
I always hope to improve my English so I am thankful for people who point out mistakes. Don't be shy, I won't get offended. Especially if I wrote you a note you can't understand ;-)
Warm colours; shades and hues of red and and yellow. I have liked those since forever!!
Violet, and Purple and Pink; I am starting my girly girl moments somewhat late. Since I don't think they match with red very well I try not to combine my old and new favorites.
postcards !!! with sayings, quotes or pictures, doesn't matter. I am not a big fan of multi view cards but prefer PC in sepia, vintage, sog and sunrise, bridges, black and white people, PCs of famous art...
Stamps: I like them but more often than not I don't buy them. Maybe because I don't know how to make creative things with them. If you have stamps you don't like anymore I am happy to experiment with them.
stationary, blank notebooks, new pencils (preferably those writing in black, blue doesn't work for me) Let's not forget my friend the POST IT. I could not live without Post Its. There are never enough around.
Flowers (Gerbera and Tulips, not Roses) and Butterflys
Funky Bobby pins, Hairclips or Hairneedles which I never buy for myself. Same goes for earrings.
vintage style Photos. old black and white portraits, family pictures or wedding pictures
Quilting Fabric in sunny yellow! I would love to make a sunshine quilt. Since I just started quilting I do not have a big stash so most anything is welcome
Lists! Of words you like, funny town names, Signs on trucks passing a window...
special made coffee mugs
I prefere black and herbal tea over fruity teas and I am not a big fan of rooibos tea. I hand it over to my flatmate ;-)
No Notes. I am really looking forward to all my Swap Stuff and I like to hear from the people who sent me things. Doesn't it feel strange to you when somebody takes the time to create a handmade item doesn't at least add a note?
Granny Squares RED: I am going to use them to make a cover up for an armchair. If there were a little bit of red in each square it would be wonderful. Of course only if you have red around. No need to go out and buy yarn.
Quilt in Violet and Purple. This turned into two quilts midway when I made the backing way more elaborate than it had to be and decided it needed more special attention. Now I have two very nice tops hanging on my wall.
I enjoy working with Papier-Mรยขchรยฉ because you are able to create nearly anything you want using nothing but old newspapers. I like working with paper but I use what is on hand and rarely buy special items. I try to make everything myself, I am kind of thrifty that way
Recently started quilting, not quite sure how good I am going to be at that.
I like knitting and crochet every year during the cold season and I got pretty good at scarfs and mittens. This winter I finally learned how to knit socks and just guess what everyone got for X-Mas.
Doing Granny Square Swaps is so much fun. I just love how every square is finished so soon and is its own little work of art.
___ On Rating, Flaking and Contacting:___
I don't think that there is any point in promising not to flake. You either do or don't and usually your rating history speaks for itself.
Even if it says "senders choice" I will check your profile. I would like to give you something you will actually like and enjoy. If I am really totally wrong with something or you think the artwork, craftsmanship is shoddy, please tell me. I wont flame you for honest reasonable and reasoned (!) opinions of my work. I am more likely to work out a one on one trade for something new or resent. Depending on postage, value and free time.
I am responsible for my ratings. I feel like it is my swap till you get it and so I try to keep track. If I notice a swap not being rated after 3 weeks I will probably contact you about it. While, in my experience International Post may take 4-6 weeks, I will defer to your wishes and resent sooner should you want me to. It is not my most favorite thing, but I will resent.
Regarding Extras and Hearts:
I give hearts for thoughtfullness, not extras. If I get the impression you thought about me while choosing, you sent something you thought would make ME happy, not some random swapper, the heart is yours.
Unless you are really sure I will like it, and in that case I would love a note about why you think I like it, please give your extras to somebody who will appreciate them.
Journaling and "Religious Items"
I noticed lots of people mentioning Religious Items of any kind in their Dislike-List. That's ok. I don't proselytize and I won't sent out items on your dislike list. Journaling on the other hand is a way to express myself and to learn about somebody else. Sometimes religion is part of my day to day live, sometimes it's vegan food or crime tv shows. It is part of me and therefor going to be part of the journals.
Diana Gabaldon's Highlander and Lord John books. I love how she weaves the story and creates multi facetted characters- I like who even minor characters surface again that she is able to write different POVs that are believable.
Most books by Judi Picoult because she makes me feel and think from different perspectives.
I am reading a lot of Fanfiction these days. Mostly Harry Potter, SS/adultHG ;-) recommendations are welcome.
Body of Proof * White Collar * Unforgettable * A Gifted Man * Criminal Mind * Army Wives * The West Wing * Gray's Anatomy

My best friend's German- she's from Schwerin where I had the best Christmas ever! I'm a confirmed Germanophile. I visited Berlin a couple of years ago and can't wait to go back.
LOL I'm sorry but that totally went straight over my head!
