My name is Denise.
PLEASE NOTE: I have made up one of my 1βs. I have messaged the other but she is currently inactive. I am trying to redeem myself. I am starting with small simple swaps. Please give me a chance to make it up to the SwapBot community.
I recently survived a baseball sized brain tumor. It certainly has given me a whole new perspective on life.
My goal in life is to move back to my hometown of Lawrence KS. GO KU!!
I'm one of those annoying, happy, cheery morning people that non-morning people love to hate.
People tell me that I am pretty optimistic. One of those the-glass-is-half-full kind of people.
I am an LGBTQ supporter. I have a trans niece that I love and support like my own daughter. So, Please do not send anything anti- of any kind.
I love science fiction (especially Star Trek), astronomy, books and the great outdoors. I also spend a lot of time in museums, art and historical.
I read all the time. That may be a little exaggeration, because I have to sleep sometime. My favorite authors are Douglas Adams, Christopher Moore, Richard Kadrey, Jasper Fforde and Sherri S. Tepper.
I read mostly science fiction, some mysteries, novels and non-fiction history, science and memoirs. No romance, yuck.
I love movies. I could live in a movie theater and be happy. I can never pick just one when someone asks for my favorite.
I love old monster, B-movies from the 50s and 60s, like The Crawling Hand or The Thing with 1000 Eyes.
I like old musicals.
I re-watch 80's movies all the time.
Two movies I never get tired of watching, no matter how many times I have seen them: Dogma and Spaceballs.
And, I will watch anything with Simon Pegg.
My favorite is recording memories in my smash journal. I've been keeping one since my teenage years. I often refer to my journals as a junk drawer. Itβs full of crap I want to keep and otherwise have no idea what to do with it. Full of ticket stubs, playbills, photos from outings, candy wrappers, used PCs or whatever else I can cram in there. I use all kinds of printed papers, die cuts, stickers, ephemera, photos, and more. I like using watercolors, pastels (chalk and oils) and charcoal. It's like journaling, but with a little art and collecting thrown in.
I am more eclectic or bohemian then vintage or shabby chic.
I recently added a bunch of pictures of different journal pages to my Pinterest and Instagram if anyone wants to see.
Favorite Animals: turtles, pink flamingos, penguins, bugs and insects
Favorite Comics: Tank Girl, Fables, X-Men
Favorite Colors: orange, pink and green
Favorite Flowers: Shasta daisies, black eyed susans, sunflowers. Any daisies really.
Other stuff I like:
Anything to do with the 80s: movies, music, clothes, mtv...
I like eclectic or bohemian.
I like non-tourist PCs.
Sailboats, hot air balloons, bicycles and wagons
Plaids, polka dots and paisley
robots, aliens, spaceships and rockets
Old barns, silos and windmills
Colorful, antique, strange, fanciful or unique doors
mythical creatures ie: dragons, Bigfoot, sphinx, banshees....
I can always use die cuts and ephemera for my journals.
I hand draw mazes.
I hate the cold, so late spring to early fall is my favorite time of the year. I try to spend as much time outdoors as I can.
One day I would really love to go to Russia.
I have a fascination for conspiracy theories. The weirder the better. I just like to figure out how they got started, where they came from and other random information.
Do you ever get a really great rating with a wonderful comment, then wonder, wait, what did I send? I'm pretty forgetful. Maybe I should write this stuff down.
There are only a few things I donβt really use or like.
Anything holiday related
Fabric scraps or cuts
Anything with religious themes

Thank you for the Mount Rushmore PC. I took a trip there with my best friend back in 2010, and really loved it.
Thank you so much so sending me the angel package for Red For Your Partner. This was the first time I've been flaked on, but you turned a negative experience into one of the best swaps I've had! Thank you so much! I can tell you went through my profile and picked out some wonderful items for me.
I wanted to do the shoe swap, but the timing didn't work so well for me.
Thank you for the nice letter! I enjoyed reading about your relationship with your daughter. It sounds like you are adjusting well to being an empty nester. Take good care!

Thank you for stopping by my profile and checking on me- I am actually on the Gulf side of Florida, rather than the Atlantic; so we just had a bit of wind from Matthew over here. I appreciate your concern though! Hugs, Tracy
