This is a tough one for me. I have diagnosed myself with craft ADD. I tend to try most crafts and some things stick and some don't. I have my own art/craft studio, so I have lots of space for doing what I love. Some of the things I do and products I use:
scrapbooking rubberstamping paper crafts, especially card-making sewing zentangle/zendoodle ATCs pastels watercolor painting beading alcohol inks Copic markers
...phew, that's a lot.
I've tried other things like counted cross stitch and knitting and I used to make artist teddy bears, but I like to be able to finish a project in a sitting, so projects that take multiple sittings don't tend to stick.
I love everything creative. I enjoy being challenged with new craft ideas. In 2013, I adopted my son who's now 4. He's autistic and tends to take up most of my time. I recently lost my yellow lab, Jasper, and my heart is still broken, but eventually, I'll get another dog. I also have 3 snuggly cats (Lilly, Sawyer, and Zoe) who keep me busy.
Lately, all I've been reading have been books for my 4 year old, but when I can, I like Stephen King, Tess Gerritsen, and Christopher Moore. I'm NOT a sappy chick lit reader. I just don't have time for that. I want my heart to race because of what's around the bend, not because some girl likes some guy, but they can't be together for whatever reason. I read The Notebook, that's the extent of my chick lit. I also like Harlan Coben on occasion.
I actually don't have cable, so most of what I watch is on YouTube and Netflix. I love Ghost Hunters, Ghost Adventures, and Supernatural, but I've also been known to watch Dr. Drew's Celebrity Rehab when it was on...guilty pleasure. I don't miss cable TV, to be honest. My parents will sit down and watch TV for hours and I just can't do that. My son watches DVDs or streaming kid shows from the internet. I haven't turned on the big TV in the living room in months.
I have a large music library that is extremely variable. I'm a child of the 80's, so I'll listen to Rick Springfield and Bon Jovi any day of the week. Other artists in my collection include everyone from Tracy Chapman, John Denver, Broadway Showtunes, and Johnny Cash to Metallica, Miranda Lambert, and Eminem...and everything in between. Crazy, I know.
I love to travel, but don't get to do it as much with my little tagalong, but in my childless days, I've done a 10 day bike tour through Holland, spent 2 weeks in Spain, did a whirlwind 2 week trip through Europe, spent a week on the beach in Aruba. What I love about traveling is getting to see tons of new things and people and places and learn all about the land. And the best part is coming home and reliving the trip through photographs. I recently got back from a week long vacation with my son in Southern California and came home with almost 1,300 pictures. Thank goodness for the digital age because otherwise, I'd be spending several paychecks getting them all developed only to find half of them are horrible. I have a Rebel T5i that is absolutely indispensable. I also have an Olympus Tough that's a pretty awesome point and shoot. It can go underwater and is built to survive a 6 foot fall. I'm a decent photographer and have done a few weddings, a few christenings, birthday parties, and family portraits. I REALLY enjoy it, which makes travel all the more important to me.
