Update- April 2019 Currrently taking a swapping break, working on a three book series. :-)
I took quite a bit of time off from swapping and published 5 children's books. If you are interested, you can find them on Amazon and if you want to help a new author out, you can go "like" my Facebook author page. (The link is above) :-) and Thank you!
I am wanting to swap on a limited basis...I'm still pretty busy writing but I miss the inspiration, the friendships and the happy mail!
My Flickr will contain spoilers so if you want to be surprised...don't look! ------
I am a VERY prompt and reliable swapper! If you have not received from me, it is a postal issue, please let me know and I will make it right!*
I also ALWAYS rate, usually as soon as I get something and I soooo appreciate others who rate promptly also as that keeps me from worrying that a swap may be lost.
I am.....a maker of things and teller of tales. I am an optimist, shameless day dreamer, friend to the fae, believer in fairy god-mothers, aliens, super heroes and far flung worlds.....always trying to look through the window between this world and that.
I live In Texas, I am a writer and illustrator. I work in water colors, acrylic, mixed media, fabric and digitally. For fun, I make ATC's, Zines, traveling art journals and general mail art.
I love quilting, applique, embroidery, drawing, painting and books. I have traded bookmarks, art journal pages, ATC,s, fabric postcards and mini quilts for years.
I have been quilting for over 20 years. I LOVE hexies (Also known as Grandmother's flower garden pattern) I only use 1 inch hexies and have several different ones going. I would love to trade 1 inch hexies.
I also have "in progress" a "Kitchen sink" quilt (A quilt that has everything except the kitchen sink in it) so if you have an orphan or wonky quilt block feel free to send them my way or message me and we can swap.
As far as themes go, I love some vintage but not "grungy" I DON'T care for steampunk. I love anything having to do with nature, birds (especially Robins and Sparrows), BEES!, trees, ferns, gingham, love the French country colors of red/blue/yellow, love pink & green together, lacy, chickens, cute robots, science fiction, outer space (I love Mars), fairy tales, Alice in Wonderland, cute is good but not "Hello Kitty" cutesy (sorry HK fans!) I like Beatrix Potter, House Mouse, flowers, polka dots, Am ok with cute or vintage Halloween but not gory. I love old maps, dinosaurs (Dinotopia and James Gurney!) Dragons, gnomes, elves, mushrooms, fairies and other woodland creatures.
P.S. I am not a coffee drinker and I dislike coffee flavored anything. :-p
I heartily cheer on fellow imaginatives on their own artistic journey...I don't have to want to hang your art on my living room wall to support, encourage and appreciate it!
This is one of my favorite quotes: "There is a vitality, a life force, an energy, a quickening that is translated through you into action, and because there is only one of you in all of time this expression is unique. And if you block it, it will never exist through any other medium and it will be lost. It is not your business to determine how good it is, nor how valuable, nor how it compares with other expressions. It is your business to keep it yours, clearly and directly, to keep the channel open." -Martha Graham
