I had to have my sweet Silky puss put down. A 19yo darling that had digestive issues and I could not bear to put her through more medical treatment.
I join few swaps over summer My work involves leasing houses for regional government staff. It is crazy busy at that time of year and I just don't have the energy for anything much outside of work during that time.
All the best to the lovely swappers out there, especially those that are kind to their fellow swappers.
I am a single lady, in Perth, Western Australia. I have been an avid crafter my whole life.
I was in fertility treatment for a long time and failed. I retain a deep sense of compassion for the infertile and anyone going through disenfranchised grief. I moderate a small online group for infertility survivors.
One of my passions is dress design. I get all excited about fit and analyse the fit of people's clothes when I walk behind them. I've also been known to sketch or photograph bits of others' clothes that I want to copy. I love buttons, fabric and thread. I aspire to complete a few Alabama Chanin garments.
Basically if it involves needle and thread or paper, I am all over it! I prefer to make useful things rather than what I call "Dustables".
I have enjoyed quilt block, sewn item, journal, scavenger, recipe, card making and envie swaps. Other swaps I enjoy are the letter and writing ones.
Cross Stitch is an abiding love. I'll do it my whole life I think.
I love clear or pastels colours. I don't enjoy muddy or mustardy type colours.
Fabric is always appreciated, I use it for all sorts of things. Other stitching items and supplies such as buttons, embroidery threads, ordinary threads, zippers, needles, ribbon, and cross stitch supplies are always welcome.
Paper crafting supplies such as decorative paper, art journal, gel pens, used postage stamps, rub ons, stickers, scrapbooking supplies, stamped images that I can colour and use on cards etc.
Stuff I can use in swaps such as pretty notecards, handmade envelopes or letter sets.
My favourite holiday is definitely Christmas. I particularly enjoy getting Christmas postage stamps as I'm collecting them. I also use postage stamps in other craft work so love getting stamps on parcels etc.
I don't have a bath so bathbombs and salts are a bit wasted on me. I enjoy soaps and those facial mud packs for dry skin. I have baby-fine, very short hair that hairclips refuse to cling to!
I hope this is helpful for people. I really am very easy to please and have rarely ever got anything I didn't like. I appreciate handcrafted items.
I love to read almost as much as eating or breathing. At school a librarian told my mother if there was nothing else, I'd read jam jar labels. My mother said, "Yes - she does!"
Favourite authors are Elizabeth Berg, Jodie Picoult, Mary Wesley, Dianne Mott-Davidson, Kerry Greenwood, , Barbara Kingsolver, Fannie Flagg and Katie Fforde. From my childhood I have soft spots for Beatrix Potter, Enid Blyton and S E Hinton.
Recently I started reading the Jack Reacher books by Lee Child and have got hooked! Other favourites are chick lit and those detective stories that have chefs or bakers in them. I really enjoy the food descriptions and recipes. Books with cats and/or sewing in them are pretty good too.
I rarely go to the movies. I'd prefer to save my money for craft stuff and watch movies at home. Movies I've loved are: The Power of the Dog, The Castle, Denis the Menace, Saving Mother, Drugstore Cowboy, Shawshank Redemption, Saving Grace (hysterical!), One Night at McCools, the Green Mile. Sometimes B grade horror movies are a good pick such as Lake Placid or Return of the Sabre Tooth Tiger.
Ozark, Grace and Frankie, The Middle, Modern Family, and Mrs Browns Boys are other faves.
Other shows I enjoy are Raising Hope and Outnumbered.
I love Enya and 70s music the most! Mostly I listen to soft rock. I did line dancing for a while and grew to love country music. I do also enjoy nature sounds sometimes.
Ratings! If I sent the swap and you got it, please do me the courtesy of rating.

Thank you so much for your extremely thoughtful and wonderful angel package; you weren't even "required" to angel, so I very much appreciate your kindness! And you went above and beyond; everything was so fun to open (it felt kind of like opening an advent calendar, but all at once :>) and there are so many lovely quotes! The voodoo thing is funny, too! :D If this were a swap, I'd give you a million hearts. THANK YOU!! (P.S. Great idea for a swap, and I look forward to joining your swaps again in the future!)
Have received your package of appreciation for sending your package on to the rightful swapper, which I was very happy to do. It was a beautiful pouch. Love the quilt blocks and yes each one can be and will be used in one of the 'homeless' quilts, nothing goes to waste around here. Loved the 'angels' as well as the other blocks, you do have a superior talent. It was a wonderful surprise, I'm very grateful for your generosity. Best Wishes
Thank you for being such a very sweet angel and sending me the bookmark you made with love! It's almost too pretty to use but I will use it and think of your generosity each time I read. Patricia
Thank you so very much for the pretty card and lovely, thoughtful letter. What you wrote was very touching and brought tears to my eyes. Also, your talk about your sweet peas made me smile. My mother's name was Penny, and when she was young, some of her family and friends called her "Sweet P":) I've never had much of a green thumb, but you've inspired me to consider growing some sweet peas of my own. I am so sorry to see at the top of your profile you are dealing with your own loss and grief now. That must have come after you sent my letter. Please know you are in my thoughts and prayers, and I am putting your card up on my bulletin board to remind me of you & your kindness. (((hugs)))
