I am a working mom as well as a student. I like to read, dance, travel and explore my city.

I have a small baby kitten at home that someone gave to us and I am trying to figure out how to keep it entertained-so far it seems to like climbing the drapes the best to my dismay! I also have fish, hermit crabs and sea monkeys here at home (I have a 6 year old son who likes odd pets-we had the biggest frog I had ever seen but it passed on this year)

I also like to collect things. Right now (thanks to my son) we are collecting postcards. I also collect glass snow globes, Anything from MC Escher, Norman Rockwell or Salvadore Dali, and folk crafts-especially wood work or paintings/cards from central or south America

My favorite animal is a pig (My son likes elephants and pen guins) and I love little pig knick-knacks.

We are a bi-lingual household, so almost anything in Spanish is great (but please nothing with Che Guevera, Hugo Chavez or Daniel Ortega.) My son's father is from Honduras, we have friends and family from all over South and Central America. If you want me to do a happy dance a postcard or souvenir that has anything to do with that area would do it.

Pretty much everything but especially Latin music (Duranguense, Cumbia, Reggaeton, Nortena, Meruengeu, Bachata) and top 40. I Luv Daddy Yankee, Pitbull, Kanye, Grupo De Montez, Rhianna, Las Alcranes

Sookie Stackhouse Books, Road to Cana, The Vampire Lestat, Love in the Time of Cholera, 100 years of solitude, A Tree Grows in Brooklyn, The time returns & anything else by Alexandra Ripley, Wuthering Heights. I will read anything I can get my hands on and love old copies of smithsonian Magazine, the History Channel Magazine and National geographic. when it comes to non-fiction I read Anything travel related or history related. I like theology and pop-culture books as well.

Gone With the Wind, Shaun of the Dead, Usual Suspects, The GodFather, Ice Age, Hot Fuzz, and recently Yes Man and bed Time Stories were worth seeing (you could probably skip Madagascar 2). I really like films with Gael Garcia Bernal, Benicio Del Toro, Simon Pegg or Ralph Fiennes

As for TV: True Blood, What Not to Wear, Anything on the History channel

• I am a girlie-girl-I like pretty things that smell good.
• I wear jewelry every day-simple small stuff during the day and bolder more modern pieces at night.
• I luv perfume and bubble bath and natural soaps and lotion-especially stuff made with milk or oatmeal.
• I dont wear a lot of makeup but I do like a good mascara or lip balm.
• Clothes wise I like xxl or xxxl t-shirts or sweatshirts for lounging around in and sleeping.
• When it comes to my home I am the same-I like stuff that smells good-candles sprays etc.
• I also LUV little wooden knick-knacks.
• I read constantly so anything having to do with books is good.
• I dont drink coffee but I like hot tea and hot chocolate.
• I like homemade stuff but I am not crafty myself-I just dont have the patience.
• I occasionally indulge in cookies or chocolate, but I really like pepermint-candie, tea whatever.
• I really like to travel and explore other cultures and am really into Central and South America right now so anything with a Latin or Carribean flair is great.
• I LOVE to cook. I am planning a garden this year for the first time and hope to plant lots of herbs and vegetables. Anything cooking related or garden related is great.
• I like handmade stuff-especially if its useful-jewelry, soaps & lotions (especially milk, honey or oatmeal), candles or decorations for the house (the living room is a mix of central American & Modern-think lots of woods, textiles and bright colors and the kitchen is stainless and black-not by my choice :P)

• Crafts are ok if they come in a kit type form-I dont keep supplies on hand and am honestly just not talented at crafty stuff.

• Postcards from place/cities/states/coutries

• Handmade Jewelry-I have peirced ears

• Small wooden animals

• woodwork items-love natural wood

• Mexican, Central American or South American inspired art of any kind

• Historical or classical fiction novels

• Foriegn coins

• Gifts for the others in my family-My man, son or kittie :) Honestly I tried to fill this out really completely to make it easier for anyone who gets me-the most fun part of this for me is putting stuff together to send out and getting surprises in the mailbox.

Well the reasons are two-fold: 1st. I am trying to teach my 6 year old the concept of geography. I am hoping to swap with international and nation-wide swappers for local items (postcards, photos currency, etc.) to give him a better idea of ourt big old world.

2nd. hoping to meet a few new penpals, discover new things and have fun :)

• Not a big sweets person-rarely get in the mood for candy (besides pepermint) and don't like cake too much.
• I am not into anime, ATC's hello kittie or anything like that.
• I dont have much use for dolls (unless they are in traditional dress from another country) or girlie stickers (although my son likes boy-type ones like cars and monsters).
• Cilantro (like the smell but cant stand the taste!!).
• Please no hard core music (heavy/death metal, really hard rock, ganster rap etc.-I have a 6 year old)

• I have no kind of artistic talent (or tools or supplies!) but I would like to have a scrap book made.

• I plan to plant a garden this year and am trying to learn everything I can about what grows here.

• I want to read all of the "Great books.' I am about halfway through.

My man is amazing! I would not be able to do any of this without him. He is supportive of all of my hobbies! If we are in a swap for our signifigant others some stuff that he would like is:

• Cologne samples

• T shirts in Large

• Anything with maps/pictures of Nicaragua-where he was born and raised

• Chewing gum

• R&B and Latin music

• Rosaries

• Things with the Virgin of Guadalupe

• Black or white socks for mens size 9

• Anything Carlos Mencia, George Lopez, George Carlin, Chris Rock or Dennis Leary

• Non-sports team Baseball hats (he doesnt follow American sports-only Nicaragua's soccer team) especially in white, pale blue or pale yellow

• Books/cards/cds/dvds on learning English or Spannish (we practice together)
