I am just getting started with art journaling/collage/mixed media/junk journaling. I'm very excited to be doing this. I'm collecting supplies even as I write this. Once I discovered art journaling (etc), I got SO excited because this will give me a chance to create. I feel the need to create SO strongly!
I've been married for almost 40 years to the love of my life. We have one biological child (a son, age 32) and three foster daughters (in their 40s), whom we raised when they were in their mid-teens. They all bring me great joy, and I am happy they are all happy and successful in their respective lives.
I love nature, especially trees, flowers, birds, and butterflies. I love Mother Earth. I'm just doing my very best to live each day to the fullest -- to be happy on this journey we call life.
I enjoy baking, reading cookbooks, and looking at recipes. And I'm looking forward to art-journaling/collage/junk journaling, etc.
I'm a homebody to the "nth" degree.
Likes: Life! Quotes. Sweets. Peaceful stuff (like the music I listen to), which is usually very "spa-like." Organizing stuff. Talking to my identical twin sister over video chat. Having a clean house (it's an ongoing effort). I'm not religious, but I am spiritual. I like learning about other religions. Learning new stuff (like art journaling). Nice people. Fun-loving people. When the weather is nice, I enjoy growing stuff, especially houseplants and flowers.
Dislikes: LITTER!. Mean people. Self-centered people. Stuck-up people.
We have a ten-year-old cat named Mia. We adopted her from a rescue organization when she was nine. Her "gotcha day" is on April 15th. We've also loved four dogs over the years.
I enjoy cross-stitching, crocheting, and making plastic canvas projects, especially tissue boxes. My good friend calls plastic canvas an "old lady craft," but we (my twin sister and I) enjoy doing it. I've bought some supplies to make macrame as gifts for Christmas. I'm also going to learn how to do needle felting. I sew a little, primarily crafty stuff. I also want to learn how to do embroidery.
I try to recycle everything I can or at least repurpose and reuse things. I hate adding anything to the landfill.
I am a Stage 3C high-grade serous carcinoma (metastatic) ovarian cancer survivor for the past six months.
Please: No political stuff or comments about political stuff. Let's keep things on the positive side.
