Hello :)
My name is Olivia Lucile. I've a smattering of virtues and vices, like any complex person; I wouldn't trade these vices, though, for anything. As aforementioned, I believe they make me complex; and as Walt Whitman wrote, "Do I contradict myself, very well then, I contradict myself, I am large, I contain multitudes." With this being said, contradictions are a large part of me, as well as ambivalence and impetuity. Though these are my chief character flaws, I find that "an interesting vice is better than a virtue that bores".
I love to read literature, and I love to write. I have a blog in which I write and post my photographs; none of it is much good, but nonetheless I keep at it. I am often reminiscent, and I have a soul that lingers in the edges of the past; I love and collect almost everything vintage, and my soul reflects so.
I love to hike and backpack, draw, paint, and meditate. Every evening and every morning, I sit outside and try to collect myself to start/end the day. I am extremely mellow, and have few close friends that are tangible; I usually relax in solitude, with Earl Gray tea and a favourite book (preferably something by Wilde or Orwell).
I have pen pals already, and heard about this site through one of them; I think the idea of swapping is neat, and I love letters etc. so I can't wait to meet others like me (and others not like me ;)
If you haven't already caught the allusion to Oscar Wilde in my username, I shall dilvulge to you that it means "true loving heart" (from the poem, 'The Harlot's House'), and once you get to know me, you will find that this is unequivocally true. I love everyone and everything. I think I feel things too much, and I observe perhaps more than I can handle. :)
I am an oldies fan. With all my heart, first and foremost, I love the Beatles. I like their more mellow, and acid stuff, in the later years; while their early, more country and Bob Dylan style music was a great foundation for them, I more often than not am listening to the Magical Mystery Tour, the White Album, Revolver, or Sergeant Pepper's Lonely Heart's Club Band.
I also love Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, The Clash, The Beach Boys, and Queen. For contemporary stuff, I listen to Coldplay, Regina Spektor, The Shins, and a lot of musicals (i.e. Moulin Rouge, Once, Nine, etc.)
Down and Out in Paris and London, A Tree Grows in Brooklyn, The Fall of the House of Usher, The Descent into the Maelstrom, The Nose, The Castle, Keep the Aspidistra Flying, A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man, the Scarlet Letter, 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, The Picture of Dorian Gray, The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, Fahrenheit 451, The Catcher in the Rye, the Secret Garden, And various stories by the Brothers Grimm and Hans Christian Anderson. I love all that I read...but the above are things I reread over and over again.
I love anything vintage; really. My room is brimming of vintage things; I have many, many, many vintage things from fascinator hats, trunks, suitcases, books, hankerchiefs, stamps, boxes, photographs, purses, and shoes. So, I would be more willing to swap my vintage things (seeing as I have a vast array) for other vintage things.
Right now I am particularly wanting:
-Vintage books -Vintage cloth -Post cards -Old paper -rocks -shells -glitter -satchels -anything handmade/sewn
I actually like everything, really. So, message me if you're curious about what I have, and if you're interested in swapping something! :)
