About Me

Artist, writer, dreamer.

I'm female, in my twenties, and I have lived all my life in Massachusetts. I've lived in the city proper [Boston, Somerville, Medford], but I currently live in Central MA and definitely prefer a more suburban life. Currently, I am a package schlepper for UPS and do some phone work and have worked previously in advertising, as a PCA, and in the music industry.

I'm a painter, a mixed-media artist, I do altered books and a number of crafts, and love ATCs.

I enjoy:

the color purple, pin-ups, Bettie Page, HR Giger, vintage photographs, medical abnormalities, blood, the beats, aerosmith, the misfits, reconstruction, altered books, art museums, libraries, voting, anarchy, sex, blogging, creating, naps, being a tomboy in a dress, my mohawk, body modification, metal in my body, scaring children, elvis, converse sneakers, skulls, anything to do with non-Christian religions including modern paganism, shamanism, mystical Judaism, occult/Golden Dawn/OTO/Aleister Crowley [I think the Superbeast is cuddly], Umbanda, Candomble, Yoruba traditions, and Voudoun, roosters, puppies, hamsters, cherry, San Francisco, the ideas of the 'freegan' movement, circus freaks, pinstripes, zines, printmaking, photography, Johnny Cash, steampunk, cyberpunk, boots, dia de los muertos imagery and schwag, novena cards, ephemera to make more ATCs with, anything with super-funky textures, tarot cards, Prince.

Favorite artists: Hundertwasser, Banksy, Matisse, Picasso, Klimt...

Please, no:

Heavy floral, fruit, or other cloying/smothering scents, those painting by that guy--creepy little girls with huge eyes. I also don't drink coffee..

Comment: Hello Alex, Thank you for the ATC you designed and created for me as part of the "Celebrate February ATC" Swap. I appreciate you drawing the ATC you sent to me. I will be adding your ATC to my ever-expanding personal ATC collection and more specifically to the Celebration ATCs group. I have liked this swap because I have been introduced to many celebrations that I didn't even realize were on the calendar. I hope we get to meet one another on some future swaps. Until we cross paths again, Happy Spring! Barb sleepingrover2010
