Hello :)
My names Rebecca, I'm 22 and I live in South Korea (originally from the UK).
I love collecting postcards and as well as the international ones I collect vintage postcards. I love them written, and I actually look at the names of the sender and recipient first if it's sent. I have a Nellie, an Irene and an illegible scrawl that I'm determined to decode. I'm looking for Doris' at the moment.
If you're sending me a postcard (and you probably are because I love swapping them more than anything!) then I like them written, stamped and left to their own devices in the postbox. I don't mind them battered.
I'm teaching at a language academy in a small town near Daejeon. I have students ranging from 5 year olds who love stickers up to 16 and 17 year olds who are interested in reading English postcards and letters. If you want to ignore me and write/ send something for the kids, go for it!
If you just happen to have any vintage images of children, the Moscow Metro, religious imagery from any faith or beautiful/ unusual architecture hanging around I will bite your hands off and then love you forever :) But don't feel you need to buy something especially, just choose/ make a card that you would love to receive and I'll be glad to get it.
My other big thing is photography, and I have a brand new Holga that I'm completely in love with. I haven't got any developed yet, but when I do I can start swapping with those.
Muriel's Wedding is one of my favourites, but the one film that I'll sit down and watch no matter what is Homeward Bound. I loved it when I was little and I love it now- I have a cat called Bess, but I'm fairly certain that she would not cross the continent to find me...
:(
I also cry at films really easily because animals that love their owners unconditionally make my heart feel sad.
I love horror films, especially the really scary ones from Korea and Japan where there's always a drowned child following someone around trailing wet footprints and hair behind (but the Hollywood remakes bug me).
Stuff I love:
Γ’β’Β₯ Pink stuff
Γ’β’Β₯ Vintage/old anything
Γ’β’Β₯ Bunnies
Γ’β’Β₯ Cats (black and white)
Γ’β’Β₯ SNSD
Stuff I Collect:
Postcards- Moscow Metro, Vintage cards with children, Religious cards, National Dress
This is a tiny tiny portion of my collection and generally if it's a postcard I collect it.
Train tickets- I have no interest in trains or other transport, it's just something romantic about travelling by train. If you have a train ticket left in your purse, then adding it to a swap will make me happy :)
Stickers- I was already building a small-ish collection and then a bunch fell out of a penpal letter which made my day :) I'm trying to track down some reward stickers for teachers, so even if a swap specifies not to send reward stickers you can send them to me anyway because I'll actually use them. (If there's writing on them it must be in English, though.)
Kawaii stationery- but I don't collect it to keep, I collect it to write on and use in letters to make them pretty. Stickers, memo sheets and cute lettersets are very much welcome. I don't care about kawaii brands because I think if it's cute, it's cute and cute makes me squee.
Penpals- I keep them in my cellar. Seriously.
I'm working my way through the Murakami back catalogue, and I have several on my dayzero list that I want to tick off. My favourite so far is Kafka on the Shore.
I also have a slight hatred towards Jane Austen despite what everyone thinks I should like. I really loved Northanger Abbey, but every other novel after that was just a big disappointment.
I studied English (and Educational Studies) at university, so after all of those hardcore novels about the apocalyptic future and Shakespeare plays I love going to the library and grabbing every terrible chick lit book I can carry. Marian Keyes it at the top of the chick lit hierarchy for me, but I frequently lower my standards :)

Thanks for the great letter about why your house is killing you. don't think I would be keen living in such a place though.
Oh, and I just saw that you're moving...want to message me your new address or shall I send to the one I have?
LOVE the card! I'll send one your way soon.
Awesome! You go first...your last postcard was so great I want to see what you'll send to me :)
